Ok .Before we begin. Important things.

1.Already asked Eric Lyons about this and got the "greenlight" so long as certain RULES are followed (Read Rules Below)
2. This thread is in no way condoning SHILL bidding to drive up the price of domain auctions with fake bids.
3. Anyone caught not following the Rules (Below) i.e. shilling bidding will be reported here and to Sedo respectively.
4. Rule #1. Do not make an offer on any domain showcased in this thread unless you intend to buy it. No exceptions.
5. Rule #2. If you make an offer on any Sedo listing showcased here you UNDERSTAND that it WILL BE PUSHED to that FREE SEDO AUCTION.
6. Rule #3. If you make an offer and it goes to auction and you are the only bidder. You are OBLIGATED to BUY IT. so ONLY make an offer on domains you intend to BUY. No exceptions.
7. Rule #4. Only List Domains with NO RESERVE and with a starting minimum bid of $99 in the Sedo Listing.
8. Rule #5. No SHILL BIDDING.

Warning: Any attempt at Shill bidding a domain to inflate it's price will be reported to Sedo and most likely Sedo will close their accounts.

How will we know?

Because Shill bidding is risky. Sometimes people get STUCK with domains they never intended to buy because they kept shill bidding to bump the price and then sometimes there are no more other bids after that. The shill bidder gets stuck with the domain. Most will want to back out because they never wanted the domain in the first place and was just doing a buddy a favor. Sometimes the seller will argue with the bidder for not owning up to the responsibility of paying up after the auction is over etc etc.
In Short?

Shill bidding if it goes WRONG is just a BIG MESS.

All of which would happen here and very publicly as many NP's have seen.
Trust me. Shilling bidding is 50-50. Some will get away with it. But most will hit a snag and be exposed as a shill bidder and that's blemish that will STICK.

So why risk it?

With THAT out of the way. let's begin.

Who here have desperately wanted an offer, ANY OFFER on their domains on Sedo which they could push to the free Sedo auction?

How many people have made an offer via email to the owner of a domain only to be told to make their offer on their Sedo listing for the domain only to have the domain owner push to auction without even giving you a heads up? (annoying right?)

How many people have always wanted to see how their domains would "DO" in an auction situation but for whatever reason they couldn't pay for a Sedo auction $69?

Either because they can't afford it or they are just not that confident about their domain to pay to start a Sedo auction? But someone else is?

To be perfectly honest. The best scenario is to get an offer on Sedo. Push it to free auction and then use that $69 that should have been payment to start a Sedo auction and use it to pay for a featured listing on Sedo or Namebio to promote the auction.

Let's be honest again. Many of us have domains that we're 50-50 on. We're not too confident but we "swear" if it only went on auction where all the exposure is it would sell for decent money or big money.

Sedo's Push Make Offer to a Free Sedo Auction is very much an overlooked hidden gem of an opportunity in domaining. I think it's the only marketplace that has this "gimmick" and it's a pretty sweet one.

Is there anyone on NP who is willing to buy a domain for say $100-$125? if the domain is worth it?

Would you make this offer knowing you are helping a fellow domainer push that offer to a free Sedo auction?

Total Win win. You get the domain you are after and the domain seller sells a domain for the cheapest cost possible.

What do you have to lose? If you get outbid then you don't really lose anything.

So this is my solution and the point of this post.

Looking for a $99+ offer on your Sedo Listed Domain to push to free auction?

Then.......

Showcase your SEDO Domain listings that you want to get $99+ offers on. HERE in this thread.

(with the UNDERSTANDING that you INTEND to USE THAT OFFER TO PUSH that domain to a Free Sedo Auction.)
Make an OFFER on domains you LIKE and INTEND to BUY and will Pay for if you are the only bidder in that auction.
Any offer on any Sedo Listing initiated because of this thread must be reported to the domain owner in this thread via REPLY TO POST so that the Domain Owner knows it's an NP user and not just an actual Sedo offer.
Why?
Transparency!
We see such transparency in the NP domain auctions all the time!
If a deal goes bad? Then grievances can be aired out publicly here and ruler breakers will be exposed.
Recap.
Domain owners?
1. List domains on Sedo at the lowest Minimum amount allowed ($99? $110?) whatever it is.
2. List domains as No Reserve even at auction at Sedo.
3. Redirect your domain to it's Sedo listing.
4. Post Sedo Listed Domains you want offers on that you intend to push to Sedo Free auction.
Domain Buyers?
1. Follow Domain redirect to Sedo Listing.
2. Make offer.
3. You may need to send counter offer.
4. Expect to see domain pushed to auction of which YOU are the first and highest and maybe the only bidder.
5. When Auction is over and you are the only with the highest bid or only bid. Proceed with payment and prepare to transfer domain to your registrar account

Warning!!!!!

1. All bids and offers are final and bidding. NO EXCEPTIONS!
2. Winning bidders MUST PAY for WON domains and proceed with payment and transfer of domains.
3. NO EXCUSES that you "didn't know" as it is clear what the purpose of this thread is.

So Domainer? What domain would you like to get at least a $100 offer on so you can activate the Free Push to Sedo Auction?

Let's begin!

There are domainers who have domains they are confident or believe would sell for big bucks if only it was put on auction at sedo but they don't have the money to pay for sedo auction.

These are domainers who....

1. Need to liquidate on the cheap.
2. Want to sell quickly without doing outbound sales.

Plus domainers are the best to understand if a domain is at least worth $100 for investment for purpose of flipping for profit .

This is why NP is the best place to create such a thread.

You won't get end-user sales but you will get to start an auction for free.

And get max exposure at sedo auction marketplace.

Yeah, I'm just not understanding the need for a dedicated thread and the long explanation. All that's happening is that Sedo Make Offer names are being consolidated in one place instead of having their own dedicated NP thread. And I'm not really sure that helps to sell the name...

May be this helps to show off our best domains or crap domains to sell cheap :xf.smile:

But you can just start your own thread and then your domain name will be in the title.

If it's crap, you're not getting $100 for it.

The long explanation was necessary to make sure Eric would allow such a thread that's borderline on shill bidding which this thread does not condone. And as someone has already mentioned here this idea is not new. In fact, a website was created specifically to "Push Domains to Auction". A website I admit no longer exists.

Here's the short.

You have a domain you bought or reg. You have mixed feelings about it. You don't feel it's worth it to invest the $59 to send it to auction at sedo.

Sure GoDaddy auction is cheaper. At $25. And namejet ( if you can get accepted) is $10.

All upfront with no guarantee of a sale.

You want sedo because you've seen time and time again most high sales in any niche sedo sales kill it.

So you feel sedo is best option but still you're not confident that you'll out $59 to start an auction on an iffy domain.

Or you are just a cheapskate.

Again the whole point of this thread is to get a $100 offer on a sedo listed domain to the explicit purpose of pushing it to free sedo auction .

Sellers? Try and submit domains you feel somewhat confident will sell for mid to high $xxx and $x,xxx or higher.

Buyers? Bid $100 on domains you will ARE worth AT LEAST $100 AND FEEL CAN BE FLIPPED FOR MORE.

buyers? By placing $100 bid you understand the seller intends to push your $100 bid to auction.

Buyer risks nothing if second buyer bids above $100.

But if no second buyer bids NP first offer will win.

Remember NP buyer. You chose to offer $100 because you did your homework and felt the domain was worth at least $100 or more.

Big win for you.

Agreed!

How many crap domains have seen on NP being reported selling for $x,xxx?

Sedo on Namebio shows consistent high sales at auction. On dnjournal sedo is 90% of the list of domain sales at auction.

Sure you can post your domain here on NP but those sales can only be on NP except external sales.

I believe in a larger global setting with a much larger audience of heavy hitter domain investors your chances are better at getting $x,xxx sale.

how many $x,xxx sales ever truly happen on NP?

The point of this thread is to help the struggling domainer to get his or her domain to auction on one of thee largest domain marketplaces online that has consistently shown high auction sales.

Where do you want to auction your domain? Where domains are being sold at auction for $xx?$xxx? Or $x,xxx?

Big win for you.

Or.... just create a Make Offer thread here on NP and sell it for $100 or more.

Sorry, it's all just a bid odd... If you don't know if your domain is worth $100, why are you buying it? If you're confident it would sell for mid $XXX or higher, then auction the thing off.

No offense, because I'm sure you have good intentions, but I think all this thread is doing is giving false hope to people with crappy domains.

You know there is a marketplace here on NP for domain auction from $100 and more but the opportunity this one is given is an added advantage; it opens up to more people rather than limiting it to only domainers here. But at sedo, you have both end users and domainers there and the more crowd the more chances of selling domain name.

So I see the good thing in the @Avtar629 idea for good opportunities to sell more domains.

Thanks and cheers.

Hey guys. Apologies for not popping in here every now and then. It is my plan to Pay for a Featured Listing on Sedo ( as should you all if you can afford it).

Again just make sure you pick domains that NPer's will consider a $100 offer on it is a "good idea" because it's worth more. So obviously it goes without saying. NO CRAP DOMAINS.

Crap domains will never get higher bids than $100 as people have already said and you will get stuck having your profits get eaten up by Sedo fees plus whatever promotions like say Namebio or Namepros you decide to do.

So............
1. Get a featured auction.
2. wait until thee end of the third week and start Posting here.

The perfect scenario is to have shown your Sedo domain featured for 3 weeks and in the last week get a $100 from NP and then push to auction.

Effect?

You will have a Sedo auction for a domain that has many views on Sedo or from NP and now it's at auction (free) courtesy of a $100 NP offer.

Hopefully you picked the RIGHT domain to do this and with any luck Domain will sell for higher than $100.

NPer offer of $100? Risk? Nothing.
If other offer comes in NP offerer is off the hook unless he or she wants to bid higher.

That's totally up to NPer.

All bids are final and binding.

NO EXCEPTIONS!

ONLY make offers on domains you INTEND to BUY.
No Shill or Fake Bidding.

I'll be posting 10 domains soon. Trying to figure out which domain's to feature.

In the meantime, submit your domains if you don't plan to Feature the domain on Sedo First.

Good Luck!
