With 4n.com and 5n.com prices increase I believe 6n.coms are the next logical step. Because of this, I have invested in this niche and expect to see growth in the coming months.

Anyone else on board?

It's simple domains on the whole with 0/4 in them sell for less overall.

It doesn't even make that much difference where the 0/4 are, although some way at the end is better, but in truth from my tracking of sales I really don't notice much difference.

Had 688856.com or the like sold it would have been a 4 figure sale, although I do agree it was a very nice sale at $888.

You also need to realise that in recent days the value of premium/patterned 6n.coms have been flying to new highs almost daily. Names just weeks ago you could buy for $300-500 you will now need to pay $700-1k+ for them at auction.

Exciting times for 6n.com!

For sure!

I should add that patterned 6n with 0/4 in them do sell well, and by the day they go for higher prices, such as 88... ones, something like 288003.com etc. type patterns have risen sharply in value as well in recent weeks and days. Despite the recent correction for lower quality with and without 0/4, the premium patterns with and without 0/4 have still risen sharply in that time.

When the whole market overall picks up again, I think the premium patterns will go to new levels altogether from what we're seeing today. However, new highs are happening daily, so you don't need to have a crystal ball to see this happening before your eyes.

Here are just a few examples in recent days:

628699.com - $589
777312.com - $710
518177.com - $896

Here's with 0/4:
375880.com - $300
901122.com - $459
300898.com - $235
299948.com - $259
654188.com - $316
etc.

Just a couple of weeks ago these kind of prices for nice patterns with/without 0/4 would not have happened or even come close IMO.

I have just bought my 100th 6n.com that I would call premium (as well as owning some others not as good). I'm now not looking to buy more unless great opportunities come along in the coming weeks, or indeed to sell my better names for a while.

Many do have 0/4 in them but they have good patterns or have something about them.

(N.B. I do not consider myself an expert by any means unlike Jim Holleran and others, but do have a better understanding then I did some months ago. I also hope people find this post useful or at least some points in it of value).

Here are a few examples of those with and without 0/4:

226388.com
611198.com
666731.com
299928.com
399936.com
828787.com
812881.com
etc.

Some with 0/4:

808065.com
802221.com
588220.com
880112.com
000313.com
etc.

It has been a painstaking process and extremely time consuming (not to mention costly).

I only entered 6n.com late in the game 2 and a bit months ago, way after this thread was initially started and every single one of my 6n.coms has been bought not registered so of course had to pay what at each time was a premium to reflect that.

I prefer not to brag and state what the portfolio may be worth in today's market but safe to say the ROI would be big. This is also factoring in 2 pretty big corrections in that time, partly due to it being the quietest time of year for domains in China as well as everywhere else IMO.

A few things I have learned:

1. If you have a feel for something and really believe in it, go all out and don't feel inhibited. Of course only spend within your budget and what you're comfortable with, but, don't be scared. Buying a few names total will not cut it if 6n's do continue to rise in value over time.

2. You need to track the marketplaces like a hawk day after day to get a feel for what sells well and what doesn't sell as well. You will learn a lot along the way. What you may spend big money for, does not necessarily mean the Chinese buyers will pay up for them as much as you want, tracking the data in detail is vital.

3. Buying at auctions like godaddy and namejet etc. is an option but in my opinion you're going to have to pay over the odds to get most good names as the big Chinese buyers want them, so in my opinion for many names you're better off patiently watching the forums and waiting for the right opportunities to come along. That is likely to give you serious ROI as people sell under value occasionally, great bulk deals, need fast cash etc. etc. It takes time but is well worth it IMO.

4. Speak to mentors and those with more experience then yourself along the way, you'd be surprised how helpful and willing some people are to give of their time to assist along the way if you're polite and professional.

Following on from the above I want to extend a serious thank you to everyone involved along the way but in particular @Jim Holleran, @GravityEleven , @TargetNames as well as others.

To finish, I am fairly confident that after the New Year prices will move up again, although premiums have in many cases gone up even in this quiet period of time of recent weeks, especially triples and good patterns with and without 0/4. No one has a crystal ball of course, but i'm very content with where 6n.com is at overall.

I wish everyone the best for 2016!

888 or triple repeating numbers will always fetch higher price
Random ones are around $150-200

You can check my thread in signature for some random ones :)

You would do better posting rational, market based BIN's rather than the open "offers" post. From the all the threads I've ever seen here on NP it is clear few people will make a serious open offers like that. Offers make sense when it's a brandable one or two word domain. But these are liquid commodity names.

The only reason to leave it as "offers" is because you're expecting someone who doesn't know anything about them to make you an outlandishly high offer. If you really want to sell them at market rates, post your expected BIN for each name with it's normalized market rate.

188899.com $3100 NB
269898.com $1200 NB

It isn't all 8's...

I have recorded thousands of sales. This is the most +$1000 sales in short period.

Random domains with no meaning (no 0,4) like "361527" are now at about 1100 CNY ($167) average.
Bottom end interior triples, like 511172 are now CNY 1900 and better ones are averaging CNY 2400. This is up about CNY 500 from last month.

Doubles are up, non-8 double-triple endings are way up, and domains with 0 or 4 and decent patterns are up.

What isn't up are "random" domains (as noted above), one or two "non-double" 8s (like "x8xx8x) and double 8s near the beginning, like x88xxx. Of course, there are exceptions.

Lastly, when Godaddy or Namejet, in particular, have a large daily supply of 6n, prices are depressed, especially on the "back-end" of the supply.

Which auction? Check NameBio for recent sales data.. Around $150 market price!

You think 6n.com is quiet right now, check chaomi for 4l.com chips, for weeks it's barely had any volume.
Look at 4l.net, 4l.cn, 4l.com.cn, basically 4l anything except for 4l.coms have been doing serious volume lately and prices have been flying. In that time 4l.coms have gone from 13500 RMB to 14200 which is not much to talk about.

In terms of 6n.coms, premium has risen sharply in recent weeks and the last month in particular has seen these move away fast from the rest of the pack IMO. I expect that to continue over time, especially for triples, 88 contained somewhere, great patterns etc.

For average 6n, It's a game of patience at the moment IMO.

This is an excellent post and pretty much exactly what i've been seeing albeit probably on a smaller scale to you. Premium is flying at the moment, even when things have been quiet or even during sharp corrections from the peak of 3 months ago, the premium has been going to new levels almost by the day lately.

I can't wait till after the Chinese New Year is out of the way.

Yes. This. Though in past years there's been much acceleration going past that. Say around April/May.

what do you guys predict for floor price for the ones without 0 and 4?

My personal view is, it really depends what we're talking about when discussing 6n floor with or without 0/4.
Random 735196.com type names I think will move up gradually to $250+ in the weeks and possibly months ahead, depending how fast the market moves.

Premium 6n with triples, great patterns, 88 names in most places etc. I really am not too sure, I just think every time there's a floor within days the floor has moved up so it's very hard to say, but if you own those, hold IMO.

Some of what I say above applies to even with 0/4 in some cases.
For example:

444710.com - $225 - late December at godaddy
444926.com - $150 at a public godaddy auction with 3 hours left.
808606.com - $370
761088.com - $410
etc.
You would never have seen these prices just a month or so ago IMO.

I think the better pattern 6n will continue to rise at a level way beyond the average with/without 0/4 in the coming months. I am holding all of my better 100 or so, so am putting my domains away for a while.

if we look at it compared to 4L Chips there are 262,000 6N chips compared to 160,000 4L. so price should be $500 floor when its all said and done if things keep up.

what do you guys predict for floor price for the ones without 0 and 4?

I can't speak to "absolute" floor price because any given sale can be far from the average. However, my data suggests the high was CNY 1700 in mid-November, the low was 950 a few weeks ago (before X-mas),
now it is about CNY 1100.

You must remember, there are 1 million 6n's and all have been bought. A healthy percentage of those are "mid-tier" random number strings. There a several large sellers who own many of these. They are constantly being offered by the thousands in China. I'm not sure CNY 1700 will be reached again for some time. As with any vertical (4L, 5N, etc.), the upside is always with the better domains.

I should add that the reason I focus on China for sales data is because the volume dwarfs what is in Namebio. Namebio is ok, but its a very small picture of what goes on daily.
