A while back, I lost my domain AI DESIGNS DOT COM . It went to a Dynadot expired auction. Despite I try to redeem it, even offering a $1000 redemption fee and reaching out to the CEO on Twitter, I was completely ignored. They let it sell, showing no flexibility or concern for a long-time SUPER BLUK customer. No mercy.

Now? I just won a domain fair and square, auction ended DAYS ago. It's been 3 days since I paid for it. Today, @Dynadot cancels it, saying the original owner renewed. So you help others redeem but wouldn't help me? The hypocrisy is disgusting.

Talk about karma. The DomainKing, who won my domain at the expirred auction, is now attacking the greedy @Dynadot over their own auction issues.

You sound very bitter. The blame is yours and yours alone for not renewing your domains.

Keep in mind that Gambling.now appears to be registered at a DIFFERENT registrar (Spaceship)

Meanwhile, the domain name you lost was registered at Dynadot.

The process for handling external and internal domain name are DIFFERENT.

I believe the same thing happens at other registrars that auction domain names registered at a different registrar.

Dynadot's auction inventory comes from multiple sources, including their own registrar. Each registrar has their own rules and processes around redemption that can be more permissive than the standard.

A registrar that runs auction (e.g: Dynadot) has an incentive to be the least permissive possible because they're profiting off of the domains at auction. A registrar that partners with an auction platform to sell their expired domain inventory has a similar incentive but because the auction process runs externally, it's unlikely that their processes are familiar with the auction (or even necessarily care).

So, if you have a domain registered with Dynadot and it goes to auction and receives a bid, Dynadot can guarantee through their own systems and policies that the auction will complete because they control the domain. For a domain registered through a different registrar that Dynadot are just syndicating, Dynadot do not control the domain so they cannot guarantee the outcome, it's down to whatever rules the domain's registrar decides.

If you're worried about your domains expiring and going to auction, you should find a registrar that doesn't run auctions and doesn't partner with an auction house, or find a registrar with auction policies that you feel are more fair. Porkbun, for example, allow a registrant to recover an expired domain at auction until the domain receives its first bid. Alternatively, you can avoid the issue altogether by renewing your valuable domains many years in advance.

There is no mention of the circumstances that led to you not renewing your domain and to it expiring.
The omission of this crucial information in your post gives us the answer.

In life, some people choose to learn the easy way, others the hard way, and some just choose to never learn at all.

Relying or hoping for unrelated people to help or rescue you, is often met with disappointment. Unrelated people will nearly always let you down, as will some who are related or close to you too.

Hopefully, this hard lesson will lead you to taking care of your affairs, properly.
