Should we avoid Afternic?

On July 26 I sold a domain at Afternic, on July 31 a domain was transferred successfully and the buyer already using the domain. But unfortunately, I did not get my payments yet. It’s upsetting. No support is helping me and I am feeling frustrated, all they are saying "We are investigating this transaction and will provide an update as soon as we are able to."

So what should I do now?

and what is the best alternation in your eyes?

Some hints from doing 1000s of transaction w afternic..

Check your payment methods..do u have a w9 on file. Does the info match up.

You will know more about your case then they do so u have to try to be helpful..they sometimes don't even know what's going on..

I'm outside USA a person, and normally I took payments on my local bank, when godaddy auction has member listing, I have sold couple of domains there and took payment on my same local bank. So I don't think my bank has any issues.

Based on the information from @onenasimDomain99 in this thread, it sounds like the Transaction Assurance team for Afternic is doing some extra checks before closing the transaction. While these are relatively rare, they are in place to protect both buyer and seller. Afternic’s team will reach out to you with progress, and you are always able to contact that team directly.

Please feel free to DM us with the domain name so that we can track the progress, too.

I have contacted them and always they got the same answers. However, I'll DM you and give you details.

Funny right!! Domain is live since 31 july the day buyer got the domain.

either poorly worded reply or they have deeper issues. I hope its the former

this is my first sell on afternic that is why it's special to me, small or big amount.

I have send emails to afternic TA team many times but all they are saying is We are investigating this transaction.
I don't know what they are investigating. This was my first sale on afternic but I can not celebrate it because of this. Godaddy auction was best for me, I have sold many domains on that platform but sad they closed it for us.

oh, are you sure its sold? I had this happen with my first sale on afternic, but then they said they were investigating it and suspected it was a bad transaction and the sale never went through. All subsequent ones (2) have been fine.

Yes the domain transferred successfully and owner already lived it.

Well, I have many days waiting so I think this will be the same as your situation, so is deplorable company, sadly I don't found the real reviews of Afternic before use

People are saying this is a good platform of Godaddy, But it's unfortunate this is happening to us. You let me know if you got your funds.

If your Auction transaction is successful, it shouldn’t be an issue to go through to your local bank. You may recheck your account setting to make sure everything is properly set. I my case, transaction information sometimes landed in my “spam” folder and I got to wait when they already sent! So far no such delay or problem with AN. Hope you’ll receive your sell soon, all the best!

They are big company and I believe they’ll fix eventually. Sometimes when something went wrong, it may take little longer. Let’s hope for the best!
