I would like to suggest that we either change the title of the Popular This Week on the right sidebar, or change the definition of popular.
Too often this section ends up highlighting posts that are controversial or inflammatory, that get the number of replies to make them achieve Popular This Week status simply because many members post corrections or objections to what was the original post.
This is perfectly illustrated as I write this. The top of the Popular This Week is a post by a member with an impact score of 0 and the post itself also has a rating of 0. Many of the posts in the discussion object to the opinion expressed in the original post, but here it is prominently displayed.
One change would be to require both a significant number of interactions and at least some minimal positive score.
If this could not be done, a simple change to at least make it more accurate would be to call the list Active This Week (instead of Popular).
I would prefer having a requirement that the discussion original post have some minimal positive reception by the NamePros community, though.
Thank you very much for considering this suggestion.
