I am making a halo gaming website, the main concept is for teams to find fast scrims (games) against other teams. For this type of website I will need to start off with a "boom", and then I predict the users will grow through word of mouth.

I have contacted the owner of these halo forums. He said that for $50 he will put my website up as an announcement for about 5 days. These forums are video dedicated, meaning all the best videos get posted to the front page. Most announcements get viewed atleast about 3-4,000+ times.

I am wondering, is this price reasonable consdering I would be advertising to my targetted audience? Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

I think the price for only 5 days is a little high. I'd recommend that you pay for a banner ad on some of their pages, or do a link exchange.

A link exchange would be pointless since my website is new, I can't really offer anything back to him visitor wise. I agree it's a high price for 5 days though, but in that 5 days it would get a lot of exposure since there's usually only 3-4 announcements up at a time.

Hmm well he changed his mind apparently, he is charging $50 for 24 hours for approximately 5,000 visitors. The only thing I like about it is 100% of the visitors are specifically who I want at my site. I'd rather have 100 halo players than 50,000 random visitors, they are no use to me.

That being said, do you think it is still an unreasonable amount?
