I wonder if it's legal to contact the owner of the same domain name, but different extension to ask him buy my domain?

It's a 4 letters .net domain, and when I search on http://www.trademarkia.com/, it shows many trademark applied in many countries.

Thanks for any recommendation.

If the owner of the alternate domain has the .com, he or she is not likely to want your .net, unless it's a high traffic word.

Also, if the potential buyer has a trademark on the LLLL term, it might be dangerous to your pocketbook to offer it for sale to him or her.

This is just general advice, given that I don't know the specific domain -- and I'm not a lawyer.

If the name is a blatant trademark, then contacting them probably wouldn't be the best idea. Actually, holding a trademark infringement domain name all together is not a good idea as well.

Almost all 4 chars are copyrighted, it's based on the country where you want to find end users.
