Shill Bidding On Cax

I placed a proxy bid for a domain on Cax. Unfortunately i missed something along the way when placing my high bid as it was visible to all and did not come up as private (hidden). I went back to see if i could change it as i of course did not want my high bid visible but could not find where i change it.

Anyway i received a mail saying that i was the winner of the auction at $1 more than the next highest bid. Looking at the bidding list for this domain i noticed that a bidder with a name of jokeskkkkkk had placed a bid $1 dollar below my top bid and had a few proxy bids on the bidding list. If he had wanted the domain and my bid was the highest and the bid amount was visible why would you submit a bid $1 below the highest bid unless it was to make sure that you got the highest price for the domain?

Now, being the kind honest soul i am and suspecting the worst i am feeling very peed off by this and am thinking seriously of not completing the transaction. I do know that the seller is a namepros member as i spotted the domains listed on NP a short while ago. It is not even the extra $48 i guess but the thought that i have been ripped off badly.

What do you guys think?

I think you got the domain in budget, nice grab :)
Yeah thanks..but i still am a little peeved about the principal of this. Perhaps i am naive in expecting others to be as honest as i am.

Is eCop a reliable escrow service?
