What ever happened with the sale of Shelly.com? It was sold here at namepros for $16,000. Then sold a week later at sedo for $10,000. So? The "seller" has not returned here to namepros since September 2. And the whois still shows the original owner.

Sellers NP account was closed. No way this person is the legitimate owner or broker. I've been doing this long enough to see the obvious.

Sellers account looks like it is still open. I thought his ability to sell was suspended. @James Rodman was the buyer here... perhaps he will chime in...

The owner of shelly.com gave the np member permission to broker it but there was a minimum amount the owner wanted. So the domain didnt sell. There was an update post on this but I think it got deleted with the thread. The update post was in another sales thread the broker had.

I wonder how sedo with handle that. Seeing as how the "broker" sent Shelly.com to auction with a 10K bid and it stayed in auction for the entire 7 days, then closed at $10K ....with a winner. Normally the account would be closed and seller required to fork over 15% commission to resolve things.

If you guys look at the constant Whois changes and shenanigans you'll realize this member's listings are not authorized.

It was posted in the update that the seller confirmed he gave permission to the np member to broker the domain.

This is more motivated to sell (yet still wanting top dollar) seller meets young pup broker

If you hired a broker would you change Whois info and give someone in another country control of your domains? No way!

Let's analyze this:

Sometime in June/July, Whois changes on both fantasize.com and Shelly.com. Changes include registrants name, email, and fake phone number.

Seller auctions fantasize.com here but fails to complete the deal. Then the seller auctions Shelly.com and despite posting that it looked like a certain member was going to win at $16k the seller doesn't complete the deal.

Then what do you know, the registrants name in Whois is changed again. This time it goes from Mark Grant back to the real owner, Grant Liske, but email and fake phone stay the same.

Now the "broker" sells at Sedo for $10k even though he/she knows the $16k offer at NP didn't meet Grant's expectation?!

The BS is too deep for me...

That's true and based on that, I was under the impression that winner was unable to pay (needed more time maybe?)... and the "broker" saw it as an opportunity to place it on sale again elsewhere, hoping for a higher price, which the owner was also relieved about and hoping for. And that's perhaps how that story of not meeting the reserve fitted nicely with the situation. That's just the impression I got about what may have happened... just my opinion.

Things don't always turn out as expetcted when a seller has things done by someone without the right experience behind them.

Now this domain is somewhat tarnished.

The account of @Sharjil should be closed here due to this, not that they will ever return. So far their account at sedo still seems to be active. I suppose that will change. Thanks for clearing up what happened @James Rodman
