Set up business or not?

Hey all,

I have tried getting this information from a number of sources but no one can give me a exact answer since they are not in my state and I know that each state has it owns laws, so if there is someone in Nevada (las vegas specifically) that can answer this it would be extremely appreciated.

I want to launch one or more websites. I know at first not to expect to make much money maybe a few dollars a month. But no matter if I am losing money, making little or making lots of money, do I need to set up a business to run this website?

If so, what type of business should I set up (LLC, Sole Proprietorship, C or S Corp)? Do I need to get a tax id or business license? Where do I go and how would I actually do all that? How do I report my earnings/expenses from this website?

Or can I just file the revenue and expenses as part of my personal tax filings? If I do it this way, can I deduct any business expenses that I may incur like hosting and such?

I'm not from Nevada, however in most places in the US, you would need to register a company in order to report earnings, and pay income tax. To make things simpil get a sole proprietorship. Go tyour county recorders office, and get a DBA (Doing Business As) certificate. This will basically be your business license. Most counties charge a fee, however the fee is tiny usually around $10.

with certificate you should open a new bank account, and then you can start your website. If you earn revenue then its reported as under company and not personal revenue, is revenue doesent exceed $400 in a fiscal year, then you do nto have to even file taxes.
