In my link exchange I have some nice lingerie sites that rank high in
PR but now Google is not counting them according to statistics from
Google. We are just trying to get a handle on why we dropped so bad,
one day we are on page two now we are below 100 all in one month.

Can you please put a source for this information. I am losing thousands of dollars every month by not selling links on my 50 sites.

Google is becoming clever. I joined Smorty. The next week my PR3 site dropped to PR0.

Humm... it is more interesting to me after looking in all your posts that you love to make one word posts.

But I am not against it. If possible then please post your ideas on it so that we can help the one who started the thread.

Thanks.

just so you know, other than your dozens of "g'day and welcome" posts, many of your other posts can be considered spam.

Very short posts that do not add value to the current post. Example: a post with only the words, "i dunno" or "lol cool" can be considered spam.

furthermore, spamming can result in five warning points.

Google likes paid links so much they punish websites that are found purchasing them, speak out against the practice, and devalue links coming from websites that sell them...

...and yes, link exchanges "is the same case" :)

Not necessarily. IMHO link exchange between quality sites with related content is still considered as good thing in SEO world.
Though one way links are better. You can`t build any authority if you have only reciprocal links.

link building is ok...but google changes things in it's algorithm from time to time and this happens, try getting more links to your site and see if it goes back.

Not necessarily.

I agree...but the key is what you wrote. The original post was a blanket claim on link exchanges, and Google's "liking" of them. Indiscriminate or massive link exchanges can hurt a site.

It sounds like you have outbound links to a bad neighborhood. Kill the link exchange links (let the other webmaster know it). Bad neighborhood sites do keyword stuffing, doorway pages, redirects and other spamy tactics. It might take 3-6 months or so to recover after you remove the bad links on your site.

I agree that if youโ€™re linking to bad neighborhoods youโ€™ll need to cut them loose. Also, you could be linking to a bunch of sites that have dropped your reciprocal link for one reason or another and youโ€™ll most likely need to cut these loose as well. Focus more on gaining one-way links and your ranking will come back.

might be many factors i still want to see the domain to run tests on it.

I didn't realise so many people were monitoring my posts.

Cheers

Thank you for pointing this out to me.
It was never my intention to spam.

As of today I will not post any welcomes

Is this my first warning?

Such a shame it couldn't have been done via PM
