I apologize if this is in the wrong forum, but "Info & Suggestions" looked like the closest thing for feedback.
I don't post here often, but I would like to take the time to thank the members and community of NamePros, for everything really. For the awesome services in the available/expiring domains forums, for the free appraisals, but mainly for saving me from recently falling for a scam - the same one mentioned here and here. Thanks to NP, I recognized the email template the "interested" buyer was obviously using, so I'd just like to say thanks for the warning and thanks for everything. Haven't you heard? Being sentimental is the new pink.
That said, here's the reply I sent to him, after he insisted I get an appraisal and that the negotiations can only continue until that happens.
Anyway, be proud, NP!
You done good.

I did originally have a "Go hang yourself" after I insisted that he already knew that, but I didn't want to come off too strong! Thanks for your reply.
I am selling just the domain name, it currently has no website on it.
I don't have an appraisal certificate, nor is one really important to me. If you insist on getting an appraisal from a third party, I've got absolutely no problem with that and I even welcome it, but I must insist that you pay for the costs involved, since it is you who desires an appraisal, not I.
However, if I was to get an appraisal, I should tell you that I too only trust sources that I know and trust. That's why I have asked on several other existing forums about the appraisal service offered by allfordomains.com - the site clearly recommended in that forum post you showed me. Apparently, people affiliated with that site waste the time of others by pretending to act interested in their domains, in an elaborate scam to lure them into purchasing an appraisal there.
...But I'm guessing you already knew that.
Sincerely,
Someone who's not falling for your scam.
Anyway, be proud, NP!
