What is the best way to sell 4 figure domain names? Is it to post your domains for sale on social media to get the message out there or do nothing and wait ?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Sticking them on the major domain marketplaces, the odd post on LinkedIn, attempt a little outbound towards a company you feel might be interested (one email, don't hound or spam, instant turn off). If your domain is truly capable of 4 figures or more, a broker may help...

This info isn't new or inspiring, waiting is often part of the game

Here's a piece of life advice from Henry David Thoreau that also applies to domain selling (along with everything else in life):

"Simplify, simplify, simplify!"

So, step one: List your domains on Afternic and Sedo. Step two: Sit back, relax, and wait for the "Congrats, your domain has sold" email.

"4 figure domain names" as in: you bought them for $xxxx or you wish to sell them for $xxxx?
If the latter, that's basically any domain, so just list it for sale and hope for the best.

This is a unique business and in my experience is one of the only ones that is a true sit and wait game. But when you think about it... So let's say you have the domain choosearecipe.com There are probably only a few people at any given time ready to purchase that name for $,$$$ without knowledge of that domain name. The odds of finding them in the vast space of the internet is very slim and would likely take a considerable amount of time/money to find such a unique niche buyer. When these niche buyers are ready to buy they go out looking. If your name is the right one they will find you and decide if they want to pay $,$$$ or not. Good luck and make sure to list on Afternic!

IMO

Selling a domain name for $X,XXX is normally no easy feat. Consider these points....

1. The quality, length and rarity of the domain name
2. The age of the domain name
3. The number of extensions registered and developed
4. The number of potential end users
5. The exposure and visibility of the domain for sale

A good quality, short, rare, aged domain name that is taken in many extensions, with a high number of potential end users that has high visibility and exposure has a higher likelihood of selling for a high dollar amount than a domain that does not have these elements.

Otherwise, the tips that have already been shared should be very helpful.
