We purchased a dedicated server from this company selectbyte.com / selectbyte.net

Which also the owner Is a Member Here at namepros camron ...

Our server has now been down nearly 36 hours :(

No response from Camron in 7 1/2 hours ..... :(

The support system on his site does not work ....

http://www.selectbyte.com/support.php

So I submitted a support ticket to his other company
vpsbyte.com ( There Support Syatem works ) But the auto response emails don't give you the correct url to the support system it gives you the www.yoursite.com....etc....etc...etc ...

Anyway response after almost 12 hours was
Hello, the support team for that company is different.

Thank you for contact VPSByte Solutions, if you have any further questions please feel free to reply to this ticket.

Thanks.

This response was around the same time that camron made his first reply to us... UMM........

We also have clients Sites hosted on the server ahnd have had 2 cancel there $17.50 p/m Package $35 Loss.... Loss of Income so far estimated at $200 ( Conservative Estimate Possilby More )

Camron you sell unmanaged servers OK but how can the management company manage the server if you are not able to be contacted... via your site....

the server is down been down 36 hours almost .... You still have not updated us on whats happening ....
We are not happy at all with the service you provide and need some answers... please.....

The Server Is Down Now Camron ... What Are You Going To Do ?

I had it up for a little bit but it went down, we are trying to investigate but when it was booting it was showing some parse errors. The only choice we really have now is to pay $90/hour for a minimum of 2 hours for techs to fix it (mon-fri) or format it. I will be here for 5 more min, please private message me and let me know what you want to do. I am unsure what has caused this but it was definately not on our side, some one you are hosting did something which is causing many issues with the server.

Thanks.

Whatever you do do not reformat it, unless you can back up all the data Camron.

Server seems to be ok right now but I am unsure if it's going to die again. Since you never replied about the backup drive, we do not have backups on it. Do you wish to have the server worked on by the techs?

Thanks.

As I have said, this issue was caused from your side, and these problems are being caused because someone did something to your server while the management team was not managing it.

I am not sure what to tell you, if you don't want me to format it, I will just leave it be but if it goes down again this is not our fault, again, I said this is an unmanaged service, we do nothing to keep your server online. We provided you a fully working server, that's our job. Your job, is to keep it online. We do reboot it, but working this long to fix an issue for free, plus giving you a discount, is far to rediculous.

Thanks.

Yeah Camron we do not pay you $135 a month to do nothing at all.

If it was as easy as that everyone would be doing it. ;)

When problems arise they need sorting when you are providing a service, that is how life works buddy.

No, read our terms of services, we are not obligated to fix and issue caused by you.

I am now leaving the datacenter, moderators, please close this thread.

Thanks.

Camron You need to keep this server Up The guys that are paid to manage it cannot manage it if its not online..... You job is to keep the server online..... The guys that manage it cannot do so if you do not keep it booted up ....

"A side Note : New Business Venture ..... Servers $130 A month fully unmanaged If it goes down you have to get it back up even if you are 10000's of miles away.... "

Don't bullshit me mate.

Although it is unmanaged you have to be able to reboot it, or give us the ability to be able to.

It took 22 hours for any kind of respponse from you or your team.

That is unacceptable.

buddy This is ripping people off and will not see the last of us ... You cannot leave us out in the cold .......

You told me the server you provided would do what I needed when we spoke before I purchased ....
And now it does not ... we only had it 2 weeks ..... You are telling me

"we are not obligated to fix and issue caused by you."

This is caused by YOU

Oh One more IMPORTANT thing here the management team cannot even contact you if there are issues..... Your support page does not work ......

My management team cannot monitor the server without correct information please provide us this also

I think you underestimated us Camron, we're not a couple of idiots that just got their first computers last week.

We are not stupid enough to believe that when you pay someone $135 a month of our hard earned money for a service they are not accountable. You are accountable for some of the service you provide.

Please do not insult my intelligence any more sir. I've had enough bullshit for one day.

Exactly Bonzer.

He fails to see that though, he thinks he should just take the money and if something happens then tough shit.

Not sure where you guys are getting the link, http://www.selectbyte.com/support.php, from but it's http://www.selectbyte.com/contact.php.

May I ask, how is this my fault? When booted, you have changed the whole os, and made many modifications to the server. I have not touched it since it was given to you, this is most definately not my fault.

It is now online and working, I am at home, best thing for you to do is contact your management and ask them to get a look into your server to see if they can find the issue instead of paying us to do it.

If you think I am bsing you, think again, I am a person of business and have never had this issue before. People who buy from me expect a unmanaged server. I am not underestimating you at all, look at all the other businesses you have destroyed.

Thanks mate.

Can you please forward us a copy of the network MRTG graphs or a statement from the uplink isp.
Our server management team are trying to get to the root of the problem so we don't go down for 2 days and lose 500 bucks again.

email is [email protected]

Thanks Camron.

And P.S We don't "destroy businesses" we fight for what is fair and honest and we always will do. :tu:
We kicked WickedInnovations arse and got a full $1800 refund because they were incompetent idiots and the syristech.com/kokohost.com guy was just a dumb arsehole that tried to scam us.

I totally understand, but you also have to understand we are no scammers. We have large businesses depending on our network, and that's what were known for, our network.

I hope your management team can find the error, and our mrtg only shows the last 5 min and we have bandwidth overall (in text) and it seems to be steady. I will shoot that right over once I get my home computer running, after that last windows update it seemed to mess some things up on it.

Thanks.

Look at the footer of your site camron for the support.

Where it says support ... click it the link is dead......

What do you mean who do you blame? You are going to blame me while I was sleeping?

Getting a tech to reboot it now, like I said unless you want a local tech to look deeply into the issue you will have to pay the fee. But right now these downtimes are not caused by our side (as I have said thousands if not millions of times).

We can both be funny and skitty here .....

Camron as I have said Thousands of millions of times also
You have to supply a good working server .....

And not tell me we don't have enough memory when I origanally gave you the specs I needed......

Edit. ..

We should not have to be paying a local tech guy to look at the issues with the server when we have only had it for just over 2 weeks and its has had problems 4 times now.............

Let me tell you something, and this is what I am viewing from you as a customer.

User signs up
User repeatedly shutsdown server
User repeatedly asks for support on something they did to mess the server up

You need to understand what a unmanaged server means. We worked over 24 hours of non business hours which I paid a lot for. I ordered a remote reboot port for your server so you will be able to reboot it. Hoping it will ship withing the next few days.
