how come an avatar has to look professional in the first place???
That's what I'm wondering.
Iโm cool with Elad now, but not always seen eye to eye and I have mentioned his avatar myself in the past when heโs when heโs winding people up.
Never thought NamePros would make him remove the avatar though, Iโm not sure this โprofessionalโ route NamePros are trying to go in or โwhyโ they are going in this route, NamePros is a message board to talk about domains all said and done, so Iโm not sure why they are getting themselves involved in the โprofessional/businessโ side of things.
But at the same time, this is their site, some shops/clubs have their own dress codes and standards and this is NamePros house so you have to follow their rules.
But I am interested whether this as come from the very top or if as just come from a moderator, I do think it potentially opens pandoras box in how you judge what is professional and what isnโt, for example a couple years ago I tried to buy a domain called โNutty Cow dot comโ I thought it was an awesome name for a company to brand around, I also tried to buy โBadass dot comโ a few months ago, If I called my business any of these names myself and changed my NamePros username one of these names, would this have been deemed unprofessional by NamePros?
What happens if you have an unfortunate surname? โTrumpโ in the UK means โfartโ, it is not very professional when you think about it, yet Donald Trump as owned that name, stuck it in everyones faces (on hotels etc) and is now the president of the United States. If my name was โTrumpโ and I joined NamePros with the nickname โITrumpedโ would this been deemed as unprofessional?
Personally I think NamePros shouldnโt be the judge and jury of what is professional and what isnโt and only judge as personโs โprofessionalismโ for how they are on the forums.
Elad has been a good contributor to NamePros, with more likes than he posts so his professionalism should have been judged that way, more so than his avatar.
