SEDO & "Previous Offers for this Domain"

I have recently learned that if you are in a negotiation with a prospective buyer offer that everytime the buyer counters your counter it add to the total offers. Now I have no problems with that on the Sell side because it makes my domain look hot if I went through five counters with a buyer and we never came to terms the listing will show 5 previous offers. On the buy side however, it can be missleading. 5 previous offers does not necessarily mean five separate people placed bids. It could be any number of people from 1 to 5. I am wondering if Afternic and others work the same way. Does anyone know? Did anyone know the above or was I the only one who did not?

I wish sedo would show the value of previous offers. If I see there have been three or more previous offer, and I want to make an offer; I'm not sure what to offer because maybe my offer will be lower than the offers already tendered.

i have never sold a domain on sedo, nor afternic, so i have no experience with them...
