Bit of fun with Sedo lowballers.

Not much happening at the moment so reduced my Sedo min offer prices to $100, this of course attracts lowballers- five offers in the last two days on premium names :!:

Before responding with a realistic "high" price I change the minimum offer to a much more sensible $xxxx offer (Depending on name - and my price expectations).

Of course I have not received counter offers.:o However, if I did it would mean a serious interest and I would proceed accordingly.

On a more important note it does indicate interest on a name if you can show more offers so lowballers can be useful and the change of "min offer" will sort out if anyone is really serious.

Go get em

I got one $1000 offer the other day via Sedo (which was well below market value for the name - and it went nowhere after my counter, but, that's okay - at least the offer was respectable)....

But, in general, doesn't anyone offer more that $60-$100, as a starting bid via Sedo - regardless of the quality of the name...??...Its weird...Just don't know what the point of that is...

i got 2500 euro offer yesterday, but was for a good lll.com,so i still consider that a non-respectable lowball offer

That is what I started doing because no matter how much you offer they always counter with 100 times what you say. So if you start at $50 they will go to $5,000. But if you start with $500 they will go to $50,000. Better to start with $50 imo

also w/ a $50 offer you are basically saying 'yes i am interested' but you don't reveal how much you are willing to pay. kind of letting the other guy make the first offer

Frustrating is'nt it, I had a name (first reg'd in 96) priced at $4,000 make offer, so what did they offer...$60 ! now whats the point of that ?

The sedo offer process is seriously flawed (for the seller) , it forces you to put all your cards on the table when you don't even know who you're playing with.

I'd much prefer if you could just cancel lowball offers WITHOUT having to say a price....I think this would force buyers to make a more "committed" offer instead of a "I'm just curious" offer.

Even when I set the minimum to $1,000 - The offer will just be $1,000
