New announcement from Sedo:

- When you list a domain for sale, that domain is automatically promoted across Sedo’s Domain Marketplace, including the SedoMLS Promotion Network, where eligible.

- Commission prices for domain sales are now determined by the promotion channel through which a sale originates and range from 10% to 20%.

In short: If buyer comes from SedoMLS and not directly from Sedo.com, commission will be %20. Even if you didnt choose to promote domain via SedoMLS.

I just got my first offer through sedo MLS. Here is the quote:

"This buyer was referred through the SedoMLS Promotion Channel.

Sales referred through our global SedoMLS Promotion Channel are subject to a 20% commission. If you sell this domain for 500 USD, Sedo’s sales commission will be 100 USD and you will earn 400 USD."

Has anybody had any success with "fixed prices" at Sedo?

I for one would not buy at a fixed price/first price, there is always a discount, but then I would probably go the whois route for names I was interested in.

It appears simply a way for Sedo to ensure the majority of sales are now at 20%-a substantial increase!

If SedoMLS is showing your domains at other registrars, I'm sure it's not free for them.

They have to increase the commissions as they likely have to give a cut to the other registrar that help facilitate the sale.

For some users, the higher commissions might be worth it for the extra exposure.

This is pricing option for partner registrars in MLS (pasted from sedo site):

"White labeling: You can keep the registrants that you sell to on your accreditation. Plus, you are also given the ability to add another markup of up to 15% in addition to your 5% initial commission. "

Has anybody had any success with "fixed prices" at Sedo?

I have sold lots of domains with fixed price through years, in $60-$1200 range. For domains I expect higher prices, I dont put fixed price.

i think there should just be a simple yes/no button for this as an option

......or does that make too much sense i wonder ?

Yes good for low priced domains you want to clear out.

Sedo's own advice (!) is use fixed price for anything under $3000.

Well, nobody forces you to sell domain through mls if you are not happy with offer. You can always cancel negotiations - you can call that "no button" :)

Fixed price sales are binding. They can't be cancelled.

I agree, there should be an option as to whether or not you want your domains showing up on SedoMLS partners.

Someone wrote in this thread that if you put fixed price, domain will not be shown on mls network?
