I was wondering whether any of you have strong convictions as to whether the $39.99 Sedo featured listing is worth the cost. What have your past experiences shown?

Any tips regarding pricing your domain or information to place in the domain description when throwing your domain in the spotlight like this?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
.US domains.US domains
I've only used it once, my domain views didn't increase for more than 10% and I didn't get a single offer during that month. Though I received an acceptable offer a couple of weeks later :)

I have done featured listing twice in SEDO but no good results.

Thanks for the info. My experience was pretty similar. I cast VeggieFood.com into the spotlight and its listing received 1100 views, but not even a low-ball offer. I was very surprised considering I dropped the asking price all the way down to $100, 1/7 of what I paid for the domain as a reseller.

If you have a generic premium, then go for it, otherwise it's a waste of money.

Joshua, better make your own website and put all your domains up for feature, just like me.

Agreed.

Premium Generic or Premium short domains (EX: lll.com , nnn.com , cvcv.com , lll.net , etc...)

Always better to have one.

Just make sure it is a descent .com that you know will sell, I tried putting a good dotUS there and got nothing - Just extra traffic

I've done it several times and always got more views but that is it. I wouldn't waste your money. Just my opinion of course. %%-

Yea, and it's not worth anything.

Joshua, if you just want to push your domain names to Sedo auction you can try
"PushToAuction dot com", it is free and quite popular.

I never had a luck to sell at Sedo with feature option, only noticed the traffic increase.

I have just got a free month's worth of featured listed with Sedo, i had a non payer for vodka.in on their premium auction, but no money was paid, Since it has been on the featured page it has received a lots views, so I can say it has been worth it for me. even better it cost me nothing :)

I have used it twice now and I have yet to notice a substantial improvement in the number of offers received.

That's not to say it doesn't work, though.

Perhaps a better way to gain greater exposure is by applying for a "topdomain listing" via your Sedo control panel.

Update: So far I've homepage-featured three of my domains (VeggieFood.com, ValueMagazine.com, MobScene.net) without receiving a single offer. Last night, however, I got a Sedo offer for one of my zany dictionary-word names that I never would have thought to showcase on Sedo's homepage.

Very counter-intuitive, since homepage-featuring my domains has multiplied its number of views more than hundredfold.

Sedo allows now to post a link to other user portfolio domain names, so definitly it is good to attract more potential buyers.

I still prefer personal webpage to feature domains, because not every domain has a luck to be listed on Sedo "top domain".
