Hi domainers,

I was wondering if you have had any good experiences purchasing the featured listing for your name to sell in Sedo. I just featured coedgirls.mobi, to early to say if I get anymore reviews. If you have or if you do buy the featured name option, has it helped make any sales for you?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

Save your money, not worth it. Just my opinion.

I say it's not worth it either. I have several domains listed in the Top Domains section, and both cat's are about the same really and I do not see much action from them.

The category features have done some good for me.

I am sorry everyone I had meant to ask about the category features for $9.95 a month.

I agree with everyone who posted above about the featured spot, although I have never paid for a featured spot, I heard you get pretty much lost in the crowd of names and your name may show for only minutes a time. So I don't think I will waste my money paying for that.

The category featured is different and this is the one I am asking if you have had good results with. Kaleidozone do you get a category feature very often and have you ever received bids? Also what do you think is better, to have a "make offer" or just come right out with a asking price. Thanks.

If you have had good or bad with category featured please comment.

It is the $9 category features that I do --- some have worked well and some it didn't help to sell, but it did provide interest in some of my other domains because I have all my domains listed as "More domains for sale on Sedo" in the specific domain info. If it was me, I'd say go for the category feature and not the whole feature because yes your domains get lost. Good luck!

Not worth it, save your money. Other than the "hits" to your domain there is nothing good to come from it.

That's what I've always done. It's cheaper, and even though you won't get front page coverage, people (perhaps end users) looking in specific categories will see your name for exactly what they want. I tend to get many "views of offer", but sadly nowhere near as many offers (if any).

Thanks everyone,

Andrea, do you mean that you somehow place a link in your description to your names for sale in Sedo. Or do you mean that in the description of the featured category name you type in some names you are also selling in Sedo?

This sure helps, I think I can see a value in the featured category option.

I was curious as to what you mean also. I cannot find a way to link one available domain to the rest of your names for sale, from a buyers perspective. Please explain.

Go to my WeltTechnologie.com domain at Sedo and click on the Sedo link and you'll see in the description. No, they're not links to other domains --- I just have other domains listed so that anyone who looks at that listing and others can see more domains that I have for sale.

Insert the following details into your domain descriptions at Sedo and visitors to any of your Sedo listings will be able to view your whole portfolio by copying and pasting it into their browser:

http://www.sedo.com/search/searchresult.php4?showuser=you

(Replace you with your own Sedo username.)

I'm not sure if that's what you meant, but it's a free and legitimate way to get more coverage for your portfolio. You can use it on your website too.

Matt.

Thanks Andrea, I do that too and I think everyone should, especially if you have some names that are simalar.

Thanks wordsworth, very nice to have that link and I may place it on my other websites that are domain related.

I just purchased a Category Feature for a domain I own. Anyone know hot long it takes to appear? I went through Checkout and it just sort of said "Thanks for your order," than sent me an email saying the same thing. I thought it might put a little icon next to my domain in my portfolio manager denoting that it was featured, or take me to the category page to show that it was featured.

But in fact, it did nothing. And when I check, it's not featured... So maybe it just takes awhile? From the checkout process it sounded like if I paid by credit card, it would appear instantly.

No, it can take week / two. Depends on how many slots are booked. They have some limit (thumbs up for sedo) how much are active, so you dont get lost.

You will get email, when your domain is featured !

Tried once but was not special domain, was just 60 $ test ;)
Get nice traffic, but because of bad domain not one offer.

BTW. It's cheaper to book that on SEDO (us version) than german version
(60$ <> 60 euro) ;)

Usually if I place a category feature order during the week it appears the next day. But, if it's on a Friday, it probably won't be there 'til Monday because I don't think they work on the weekends.

Thanks for the info Zoki and Kaleidozone. I'm not really in a hurry, but it's more the fact that they gave me zero info about it once I finished the transaction. Would be nice to know that I paid for more than a $9 Thank You :)
