Hi All! :hi:

By request, we've decided to start a thread dedicated to Sedo. We're looking for invaluable insight into what domainers want and need out of our parking program (and marketplace, of course).

Questions, comments, suggestions, tips are welcome! We're hoping this will be a great discussion about what works at Sedo and what might not (please be constructive and respectful to others in your feedback) so that everyone involved can benefit and learn from it.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas! Happy Holidays!

Always,
Keith
(on behalf of Sedo)

You should upload all your names to Sedo. With the TXT you can override others listings. Then you can "remove them for sale" so that no one can list your domains.
Thanks for the tip, but I actually prefer to keep my domains off Sedo entirely. I don't agree with their platform's tactics - forcing domainers to list their assets just to prevent others from doing so feels wrong to me. I'd rather not have any dealings with them.

then you will forever be dealing with other people who list your domains for sale.
this issue has been going on for years. The only fix (w/o Sedo updating their tech) is the one I explained.

I just received this email,

Sedo Verification.jpg

Looks like their payment service now requires Photo ID
So if you want your payments be prepared to show your ID

Seems to be sent out to everyone today. Sedo seems to just slowing getting weaker, and weaker by the year. Really they trying to sell themselves out, I stopped listing there because certain search engines give first path to them, rather just use the other major aftermarkets. How long before their poor customer service, and our data gets hacked and is for sale on open market. Rather just avoid them. Not like their support cares anymore, but it's been fun.

I remember when I use love to to get emails from Sedo, they were all offers or sales.
My sales were all from 2008 to 2021 and then it all just stopped.
I have had only one sale from Sedo in the last 5 years. Of course Dan changed all that for me.
Now all my sales are basically just Afternic.

They were once really great.

when you go here for more info: https://sedo.com/us/verify-now/

9. How will I receive future payouts?

Upon completion of your verification, payouts will typically be processed on the next working day. Subsequently, the payout will be directed to the bank account you have on file.

10. Can I choose PayPal for my payouts?

PayPal remains available for parking and brokerage payouts.Payouts for marketplace transactions (Sedo website & SedoMLS) and external transfers can no longer be processed via PayPal. Instead, payouts are made directly to your bank account using local transfer methods such as SEPA. As part of the verification process, you’ll be asked to add your bank account details for future payouts.

So basically no more paypal payouts. Which was a very nice part of dealing with sedo.

Could you please clarify if Sedo can apply penalties or fines if this scammer fails to deliver the domains to a buyer?
Not sure if this is current, but when I last looked ToS stated that in the event of a failed sale, Sedo could (if they wanted) bill the party at fault for the lost commission.

Did they ever do that? Who knows, and anyway the guilty party could just ignore the payment demand. My experience and that of others is that when you buy a domain and the seller doesn't deliver, it just gets treated as some sort of forgivable mistake and no penalty happens.

Likely Sedo would rather keep an unreliable seller than miss the chance to sell some of that seller's domains another time if they ban them.

Fake listings on Sedo boost their boast about how many domains they offer, as they look for someone to buy their neglected shop from them.
