Hi All! :hi:

By request, we've decided to start a thread dedicated to Sedo. We're looking for invaluable insight into what domainers want and need out of our parking program (and marketplace, of course).

Questions, comments, suggestions, tips are welcome! We're hoping this will be a great discussion about what works at Sedo and what might not (please be constructive and respectful to others in your feedback) so that everyone involved can benefit and learn from it.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas! Happy Holidays!

Always,
Keith
(on behalf of Sedo)

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

You can just cmd + to do it yourself. I have sedo permanently at about 120% and it’s much nicer.

I've tried that, font stays smallish and the site still is hard to use as other things get quite large. A redesign is needed.

Dear Sedo Support Team,

I have recently listed several domains on Sedo, but they are currently under the 60-day lock-in period. I’m considering activating SedoMLS Premium and would like to understand how this would affect the visibility of my domains to potential buyers during this time.

Could you please clarify:

Will activating SedoMLS Premium immediately increase the visibility of my domains across registrar networks, even while they are in the lock-in period?

Are there any limitations I should be aware of during this period regarding exposure or sale options?

Looking forward to your guidance so I can make the most of Sedo’s selling tools.

Best regards,
Ajay Khunger
Hello,

If you offer your domains for sale via our platform, they will also be offered via SedoMLS. This increases the reach of your offers through our partner network and redirects interested parties to the Sedo sales page.

If you also activate SedoMLS Premium, interested parties can not only purchase the domain directly from the partner, the transfer of the domain is also automated. This is only possible if the domains are listed at a fixed price and your provider is also a Premium Partner and appears in the selection list with a (S).

This generally also speeds up the payment of the purchase price to the seller.

We ask for your understanding that domains which are under the 60-day lock can´t participate from SedoMLS Premium because a automated transfer after a domain is sold isn´t possible. This applies also for domains who have a manual transfer lock set in the registrar account.

After a transfer lock is lifted a domain can be promoted via SedoMLS Premium.

If you should have further questions about selling domains with Sedo please don´t hesitate to contact our domain experts by email - [email protected].

Best regards,
Your Sedo Team

@Sedo or anyone else that may know, on the sales settings view when you see "offer views" column, is this only tallied when your domain is set to make offer?

Last month I had several views across my portfolio but moved all domains at Sedo to buy now the beginning of this month. Since doing so I haven't had any "offer views"

several views or several BOTs?

SEDO is notorious for showing/counting visiting BOTs as actuall views... which is Horse Sh*t.

Buyers "caveat emptor"

I am not referring to traffic as I do not point my NS at sedo. Example from last month:

Offer Views = BOTs (in most cases)

Really? That's strange.

I always knew that was the case for uniques/traffic but wasn't aware that was the case for that column. Especially since my only domains that have offers on Sedo show views in this column. I don't typically use SEDO but sounds about right.

Guys it is time to fix your invoicing system

Our accountant gets mad seeing we invoice someone who did not pay us (as payment is from sedo and not buyer) and for amount different from what we receive (as there is the seller fee).

Logistically talking the correct option is to invoice sedo and sedo to invoice buyer

At afternic things are clear, payout transmital is from godaddy and with the NET amount

Let's see if Sedo's response goes beyond the usual boilerplate.

Talking about invoicing, SEDO still wrongfully charges VAT, to its fees.

I ve talked about this with many accountants and reported this to sedo with no effect.

Since this is a B2B supply of services, and my company is located outside Germany and VAT-registered in the UK, the place of supply should be considered the UK, not Germany.

As per Article 44 and Article 196 of the EU VAT Directive (2006/112/EC), services between businesses are generally taxed at the place where the recipient is established, and the reverse charge mechanism should apply.

Yes UK is like "Third" country for EU now, like asian and american etc countries so the only place VAT charged should be for a sale to a UK buyer.

Here its a sample:

bitcoincoxxoixxeur.whatever

This domain should have zero traffic, zero type-ins, zero interest...

Created: 2025-08-03: Offer views: 49

Hi Rhinnnn

Thanks for your comment.

There is no issue with inaccurate traffic stats for Sedo parked pages with ads. You may be referring to stats in relation to the Sedos Sales lander that we implemented last year which has been implemented as essentially a parking template. The sales lander takes all traffic that your domain receives (including bots) into account. Our Sales Lander may receive an increase in views compared to our traditional domain parking service due to this. Sedo and our advertising partners have strict criteria monetizing in parking only organic traffic. So the stats held on your parked domains with ads will be accurate.

All the best
Chris

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to us with your question. We track "offer views" when someone visits the offer detail page of a domain, which is typically the case when a domain is set to "make offer" or when someone uses our Sales Lander, parking, or clicks on the sales link to the Offer Detail Page (ODP).

When you switch your domains to "buy now", the buyer is taken directly to the buying process, bypassing the ODP. This is a deliberate design choice, as we've found that it can actually boost sales by reducing distractions and streamlining the buying process. In fact, our data shows that about 75% of sales on our marketplace are made through the "buy now" option, compared to negotiation.

Unfortunately, this means that we can't provide "offer views" information for domains that are set to "buy now", as there is no ODP to track views on. However, you can still find valuable insights and metrics in your domain report, which can help you optimize your sales strategy.

Best regards,
Your Sedo Team

Thank you for the clarification - but what is this domain report you speak of?

HI Sedo please can you clarify which pages you are referring to? It's not clear, it would help if you listed the possible pages a buyer can navigate to and from, and gave them definitive names. It looks like you are referring to four different (types of) pages above.

For info, domains set to sl1.sedo.com, which are set to Buy Now, seem to show many offer views and almost no Uniques - how can there be Uniques if there is no Parking Page for that domain? What do those Uniques measure - do they refer to an actual page and how can we access it to see what it is like?

Many people find Sedo stats meaningless, but perhaps that is partly because it is so unclear what they are reporting.

When you switch your domains to "buy now", the buyer is taken directly to the buying process, bypassing the ODP
Does this mean taken to checkout? From which page - do you mean from a search results page?

Sedo - Stop falsely advertising that a sale was made if you havent collected payment. My domain was "sold" on 8.3.25. Payment is still outstanding 9+ days later with several days of silence and no update in between despite my nudging. Do better.
