Hi All! :hi:

By request, we've decided to start a thread dedicated to Sedo. We're looking for invaluable insight into what domainers want and need out of our parking program (and marketplace, of course).

Questions, comments, suggestions, tips are welcome! We're hoping this will be a great discussion about what works at Sedo and what might not (please be constructive and respectful to others in your feedback) so that everyone involved can benefit and learn from it.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas! Happy Holidays!

Always,
Keith
(on behalf of Sedo)

some may
but with brands your sellability falls x fold right off bat.. add less to that... and its another x fold

add .ai to it and sellability nears.zero

there are always exceptions. but nobody cares about the 1%. majorities and averages rule.

are there namsa with less I'd love to own in com.. u bet.. are there namsa with less id love to own in .ai or other tld.. no.

useless... comes to mind

If anyone is interested, these premium domains are available exclusively through Sedoโ€™s top broker Mark Ghoriafi.

Now that I'm mysteriously getting Sedo offers again (??), I'm reminded how much I detest their hardline "7 days or bust" offer duration.

It's irritating as crap dealing with lowballers, as you need to wait a full 7 days until your offer expires (or cancel the entire transaction), and it's especially aggravating in cases where you might have ongoing negotiations on the same domain. Buyers must not like it either, as they also need to wait 7 days until their counters expire with no other option for the seller (or buyer) other than to cancel the entire transaction.

There needs to be duration levels to select, like at some other marketplaces, such as "1 Day", "3 Days, "5 Days" and "7 Days", etc., otherwise each step in the negotiation usually turns into a 7-day slog.

Hi

lowball offers can come on any marketplace, unless you have a minimum set.

as for the 7 days, if youโ€™ve had the name for 10 yearsโ€ฆ then whatโ€™s another week gonna hurt if a potential sale is involved?

imoโ€ฆ.

a) I have a 4-figure minimum set on ALL domains.

b) All of these recent Sedo offers are for domains acquired within the last year, with most within 3-6 months, and two have prior open negotiations.

So yes, I would love the option of lowering the "wait time" to 3-5 days like I do on Atom and some other marketplaces.

imo

also note sedo allows seller to make another offer at any point If no counter recieved from buyer.

I used this alot

example

buyer offers 1k today
I counter 5k today
no reply for 2 days
I lower to 4k
etc...

One of my domains sold recently on Afternic, and I didn't immediately remove it from Sedo. It sold again through Sedo, and I informed them right away that the domain was no longer available. I spoke with Sedo support by phone and was told it wouldnโ€™t be a problem.

Then I received this message via email:

โ€œPlease be informed that we have made your contact data available to the buyer in case he decides to take legal action.
Please note that, when a binding legal agreement is reached through Sedo, there is an obligation to pay Sedo the commission stipulated in that agreement. Sedo may pursue this commission, provided Sedo is not at fault for the cancellation of the transfer.โ€

Sedo gave the buyer my personal contact information and effectively encouraged them to consider legal action against me. At the same time, they implied they might pursue legal or financial action me as well.

The tone here is way out of proportion for an honest mistakeโ€”especially after I thought it was already resolved.

This has me seriously reconsidering whether I want to continue doing business with Sedo.

@Sedo, if you're reading this: encouraging legal action against your own sellers and disclosing their private contact information over an honest mistake is shameful. This should never happen.

Be better.

I completely disagree sedo wanting fees. cause all that implies is greed. I also disagree sedo doing legal action cause they can just not do it without consequence and ban seller instead.

rhe only thing I agree with here is sedo doing all they need to do so buyer doesn't sue them.

Damn, it's been a while since I sold a domain at Sedo, so I totally forgot about their mandatory 5-day waiting period for funds to be released. (insert groan here)
