Hi All! :hi:

By request, we've decided to start a thread dedicated to Sedo. We're looking for invaluable insight into what domainers want and need out of our parking program (and marketplace, of course).

Questions, comments, suggestions, tips are welcome! We're hoping this will be a great discussion about what works at Sedo and what might not (please be constructive and respectful to others in your feedback) so that everyone involved can benefit and learn from it.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas! Happy Holidays!

Always,
Keith
(on behalf of Sedo)

I always shake my head when I see a Sedo lander that says "xx people have already viewed this offer".
How in the hell are buyers (or anyone) supposed to know that the count resets every month? Why doesn't it then say "...viewed the offer this month". Why even use a count that resets instead of e.g. the last 30 days?

Please email our customer support team so they can look into it for you and see what the issue could be.
It happens randomly, making it impossible to relate it to specific customer domains. The capacity problems on your side can occur on one domain today and another domain tomorrow. It's also not dependent on the browser. The best approach would be to conduct a stress test on your infrastructure to identify where capacity problems arise, especially with heavy load (crawlers?). I'm sure your team knows how to debug this.

These Sedo 503 error pages are indexed by Google, so better fix the capacity issues.

The monthly reset is puzzling if the counter is intended to show "buyer interest"
Agree that the wording should indicate "...this month" -- or even better is the rolling 30-days with the wording changed to "...viewed this offer in the last 30 days"

The issue is not happening now Chris. Apparently you are having capacity issues as has been pointed out (so you, or I, can't replicate). But that doesn't mean your team can't try to conduct a stress test. Can you please email your own customer support on behalf of your sellers so they can attempt these stress tests Future Sensors speaks of? Me emailing them to ask them to do this will obv get placed right into the trash bin.

You know, with such 503 errors such input would not make sense.

It's possible that your servers are under heavy load due to crawlers. There's no way for us to see what's happening on your side.

Only if you provide me admin access to your server configurations and server logs could I provide relevant insights related to your specific setup.

It is obvious that there is a critical issue.

It is also clear that you have more say and priority in the company compared to the forum users here.

Then why don't you directly talk to the relevant units of the company you work for, instead you keep repeating the same answer like AI?

Think again about the reason why there is an official thread here and how you represent Sedo.

Another example of an indexed Sedo 503 page in Google Images (not my domain). The domain is now pointing to Atom instead of Sedo, but the trace of Sedo 503 errors still exists. The domain only had a Sedo lander for just over a month at the end of 2024, and even in that short period Sedo had capacity issues that have now been indexed in Google.

Hi All,

Thanks for your comments.

While the forum is great for general discussions and questions that we can answer directly, technical issues often require a more in-depth investigation, involving our Tech Team. For these types of issues, emailing [email protected] is the best way to ensure a faster and more thorough response and helping us be able to monitor the issue better internally. This allows us to track your request properly, gather any necessary details, and provide updates directlyโ€”something thatโ€™s harder to do on a public forum.

Regarding the 503 issue youโ€™re experiencing, hereโ€™s what we can share:
While we do monitor traffic closely, occasional spikesโ€”whether due to attacks or sudden increases in non-organic trafficโ€”can temporarily impact availability. A stress test could help us better understand our system's limits, but at this stage, we are primarily focused on identifying whether these issues are recurring and reproducible.
If you encounter this problem frequently or notice any patterns (such as specific times or types of traffic), please let us know at [email protected], as this will help us investigate further.

We appreciate your feedback and will continue to monitor the situation.

All the best
Chris

Hi @Sedo your website is showing .now names, that are registered, but not listed on Sedo as "available to register". Further, when you click to register it - you take the buyer to Network Solutions, who does not offer .now to register. May I suggest you fix your WhoIs tech so taken names show as such, and should a buyer come upon an unregistered name, may I suggest you forward them to a registrar that actually participates with the TLD they are attempting to buy?

I realize you are a NetSol company - but it does a disservice to the Buyer to push them to NetSol when NetSol doesn't support certain TLDs.

the name above is not avail to register, it is taken. And further... taking them to NetSol results in a fruitless exercise for the buyer as NetSol doesn't allow .now regs at this time.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

I have passed this information onto our Tech Team to look into.

So... what does one do when they don't bother responding? I sent a support request in October last year. They responded next day asking for extra info which I provided. Since that time I've received no response. I followed up again a week ago. Still no response...

Hello,

Question about the transfer service for an agreement outside Sedo.
In your page indicate that the commission is from 3% of the domain sale price and the following text:
The applicant is charged a commission equal to 3% of the gross sale price (take into account the minimum commission).

In my case reviewing the table I see that a .PT domain have a minimum commission of 220โ‚ฌ! O_o
Over 1200โ‚ฌ (domain sale) its a 15% of commission. Same commission as putting it up for sale directly without reaching an external agreement.

ยฟthis is correct? In this case no have 3% comission por transfer service. Is 15%.

Remember a sale some months ago not have this "minimum comission" for only transfer service. Paid only 3% of the domain name price without such a large minimum fee.
