By request, we've decided to start a thread dedicated to Sedo. We're looking for invaluable insight into what domainers want and need out of our parking program (and marketplace, of course).

Questions, comments, suggestions, tips are welcome! We're hoping this will be a great discussion about what works at Sedo and what might not (please be constructive and respectful to others in your feedback) so that everyone involved can benefit and learn from it.

I attempted to enter a domain in the sedo great domains auction, it didn't go well. this is a copy of an email I sent to sedo......wdue.com (Quality requirements not met)...i want someone to explain to me why a 4 letter .com that ends with a 3 letter dictionary word does not meet quality requirements but the following 4 letter .coms and others do...zpuo...ihuq...vjvl...kwqo...kwvj.(the explanation should be an actual typed answer not a form letter)......I want a sedo rep to explain this decision to me and the entire namepros community.

Please take into consideration that we receive thousands of applicants for this auction. Due to the sheer volume of applicants, we do not customise a response for each customer. Sedo simply does not have the resources to do this. However I have taken a look at your domain so I can try and answer this for you and โ€˜the entire Namepros communityโ€™ but the domain is already in our Great Domains auction inventory and has been accepted. I assume this comment therefore no longer applies. If you have any further questions about the Great Domain auction please reach out to customer support directly [email protected].

Sedo has offices in several time zones. Can you tell me at what time exactly a "business day" starts for Sedo Transfer Specialists, and when it ends? Please include the time zone, as well.

Sedo has only 2 locations, the headquarters is in Cologne Germany and the second is in Boston Massachusetts.

Our Boston transfer agents are available between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday EST tel 617-499-7200. Our English speaking transfer agents in Germany are available on a German number or a British number between 9am -5pm GMT+1 on the numbers +49 221 340 30 180 or +44 203 807 4929.

Thanks Chris. Because of this, I think I'm keeping the traditional Sedoparking NS with the #15 landers for now.

Can you explain to me what they're saying? Would the re-issue of certs take some time (meaning our names wouldn't resolve while waiting for the re-issue)?

Indeed. Every time you change to another marketplace for your landers, TLS certificates for https have to be (re)provisioned again, if no valid certs are already present. This may give a disruption for repeat visitors on landers that have already been visited by them in all modern browsers, and for all those landers that have already been indexed by search engines on https. Lander visitors will get a nasty error, and indexing by search engines will not succeed on https for some time, either.

This also happens when switching from traditional (ns1/2) Sedoparking.com NS to (sl1/2) Sedo.com NS, because the resulting landers are technically on other infra in the background.

When I moved landers to Sedo recently for part of my portfolio, I've visited all my landers to speed up the TLS provisioning process. While this works, it's a lot of work, and a large burden on Sedo's infra. Therefore I asked Chris whether the new Sedo infra has knowledge of (access to) the TLS certs that are already present on other Sedo servers. Unfortunately this is not the case, while technically that could be arranged.

That's the reason I will stay on traditional Sedoparking NS combined with the #15 lander for now, even though I do understand that the other lander infra may be more advanced.

Just sold a domain through the Sedo #15 lander.

I've always wondered the following.

The "Purchase and Sales Agreement" for a sold domain can be downloaded in Sedo's "Transfer Documents" section. When I'm viewing this Agreement, the Seller (me) is listed with their full data, but data of Buyer is kept confidential, saying: "All other data will be kept confidential."

I was wondering what the Buyer gets to see about Seller in their version of the Agreement. Is information about Seller also kept confidential in all cases?

This question is purely about this specific Agreement, not about any subsequent request by Buyer to Seller to create an Invoice, or anything like that.

The buyers info is kept confidential from the seller during the transfer for a few reasons including avoiding sellers going around Sedo to complete a sale with buyers independently. Also, to stop situations where an end user's buyer info is revealed and the seller suddenly demands more money because the buyer is an established company with high revenue or something like that.

Additionally, it is meant to avoid disputes that may arise during the transfer process if a confidential buyerโ€™s identity is revealed. Hence the buyerโ€™s name and address are concealed until closing is complete and both parties' details are shown to the other.

Hello,
my parked domain was blocked from sedo, and was very disappointed i just parked my domains name and the traffic was nature source not fake and i got blocked, after i paid for catagory showcase

Still I think it would be good to mention somewhere in the process (or in the Agreement) that Buyer info will become visible later on. Could you make that change?

I added your number into my phone. Doesn't appear you have WhatsApp or Telegram. Calling from an Int'l number costs money. Do you have any of these sorts of services so I can "chat" with you via your phone?

I was told by CS it is "transferservice" but no one gets back to me and Spaceship states the contact details for "transferservice" are missing. I don't want to push a name to the wrong account. Just a suggestion, changing to "sedotransfer" or "sedopush" would instill more confidence.

Sedo is using a similar account name at Porkbun.

What account do they mention in Sedo's Transfer Center?

That is what they sent me as well. But Spaceship states the "contact info" is unavailable for "transferservice" and as such will keep my contacts after the push. Just seemed weird to me is all. Sedo doesn't respond to me and doesn't update their contact details - so I came here to see if Chris can verify and/or fix.
