Hi All! :hi:

By request, we've decided to start a thread dedicated to Sedo. We're looking for invaluable insight into what domainers want and need out of our parking program (and marketplace, of course).

Questions, comments, suggestions, tips are welcome! We're hoping this will be a great discussion about what works at Sedo and what might not (please be constructive and respectful to others in your feedback) so that everyone involved can benefit and learn from it.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas! Happy Holidays!

Always,
Keith
(on behalf of Sedo)

Same here, and this one is definitely not pending.

I have a feeling this listing is already on Sedo, and from a big investor, so it automatically gets security locked up when a new owner tries to list it, even with a code in the DNS. Which kind of defeats the purpose of using an authorization code....

And the big problem is, that anything manual like this takes absolutely forever to get corrected on Sedo right now.
You can contact them via email, it may fasten the process.

@Sedo How can I view the Sedo weekly sales report on a URL or from the feed? I don't have programming skills. I don't want to use another website either.

Another pile of new purchases added this weekend and a few "stuck" domains that will seemingly not approve. Again, all domains have the ID Code on the DNS, freely viewable by any DNS tool, but there is never any movement at Sedo.

They're just "stuck".

Sent an email to Sedo Security - no reply and this issue is becoming chronic.

Sedo is just not working for me. I usually sell .CAs and there are always problems with transferring, where the buyer really doesn't understand the process and the entire transaction just comes to a screeching halt. I am totally helpless as Sedo cuts off all contact with the buyer so I am totally at their mercy.

I have put in two cries for help so far, but the Broker Bots have not even auto-responded. I often wonder if Sedo has any living workers left...

On GD, since they are a registrar, a .CA domain transfer takes about 2 seconds and I get the money the next day. But it's a 20% commission. DAN is naturally slower than GD, but still responsive, and checks in at a 10% commission. You can even chat with the buyer on DAN to clear up snags.

Sedo is in the middle at 15%... but I'm really not sure exactly what I'm paying for. Even the slightest snag on a non-fast transfer domain results in 3-5 day delays before you even get a reply, let alone solve the problem, and I have had transactions sit at Sedo for well over a month before these are completed.

At this point, I need another ccTLD transaction at Sedo like I need a hole in the head. Seriously, these are shaving years off my life.

The main thing I would like to see from @Sedo is more thorough information that is updated at least one time each year. There is no detrimental effect to anybody of having regularly updated answers. Website feedback surveys are affordable even from a small pool of respondents. Following on from that I would like to see the sedo website revamped to look more modern and user friendly. Can I also say that I've never had any problems with sedo domain name transfers or customer support so it's just with their website for me.

How fast does the "broker" get back to you when you respond within the Transfer Center system?

For me, it's 3 days min, 5 days max to get a human to respond.

In the case of a buyer who fails/refuses to respond to the domain transfer request (Sedo cannot "take over" a .CA and has zero power and leverage), how long before the seller can request the transaction be cancelled without penalty?

Like I said before, I once waited a month, and I'll never do that again as I don't need the hassle. I know Sedo has a limit on non-payment, but what about a limit on "being an utter twat"?

@Sedo

Sedo, list my name, price it and forget.
Did they get rid of full page cookie warning? A normal person types in crapola.ca they dont want to see sedo in adress bar with a big warning? No
I went incognito, typed in name i point there. What an ugly page to land on with my domain name. Ugly name anyways but not point. Get rid of that full page cรถรถkie warning Chris

From 10-20 minutes to next business day maximum.

Nothing special for me.
This timeframe was always there, even during my first years on Sedo.

You often get Sedo broker replies from concerns posted in the Transfer System interface in 10-20 minutes and I (and many others) wait several days minimum, and it's "nothing special".

Okay.

Slow replies only via ticket system, but with Transfer specialists I never had any abnormal delays (except weekends/holidays).

My best experience was with transfer agent Iris.
But I'm not sure if she works on Sedo nowadays...

My communicatiions experience with Sedo:

Transfer agents: they respond on the same or next (German) business day. To be more specific, they _act_ - provide transfer instructions, receive pushes or authcodes, generate payout invoices, etc, etc. In most cases, I have little or nothing to discuss with them (My listings are BIN exclusively, take it or leave it. Buyer successfully paid? Then the domain is theirs. If not - it is not theirs.)

Account manager (assigned to Sedo Pro accounts) - no commucation issues, fast responses. May be a few emails in an out, all in the same day. Sometimes, they may need to escalate an issue with another department though, so resolution time would depend on another department.

Sedo brokers: I do not have statistically significant experience with this team. Only if I did not list the domain for sale with Sedo - but they received an iquiry from somebody regardless, and found a way to contact me either because the domain was purely parked with Sedo, or via whois. Not frequently, but it happened. In such cases, there always was a normal email exchange (initiated by the broker) which might (or might not) end up with a sale.

Long story short - I'm happy Sedo customer for ~15 years or so...

If you have so little experience in the scenario we are discussing (questions/concerns posted in the Transfer System interface) why are you offering an opinion?

Not everyone is selling fast-transfer domains or TLDs that Sedo can actually control, and most times, I am at the full and total mercy of the buyer and the Sedo transfer broker.

My personal feeling is that of late, Sedo is "streamlining" their broker support system, using 'bots more, and designing it for the least-work intensive process possible (fast-transfer, COM/NET/ORG/DE), which leaves a lot of sellers in the lurch.

Their job is technical. They do their job, and perfectly. As simple as this :)
