Hi All! :hi:

By request, we've decided to start a thread dedicated to Sedo. We're looking for invaluable insight into what domainers want and need out of our parking program (and marketplace, of course).

Questions, comments, suggestions, tips are welcome! We're hoping this will be a great discussion about what works at Sedo and what might not (please be constructive and respectful to others in your feedback) so that everyone involved can benefit and learn from it.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas! Happy Holidays!

Always,
Keith
(on behalf of Sedo)

Sedo Premium worth it?

Hello,

I have a few domains on sedo with godaddy and namecheap register. I can't have the domains on sedo premium unless I place them for 8 dollar each to another register. My question is, is it worth it to have your domain premium?

Well it all depends on the names of your domains, which we can't advise unless you show them to us!.

Question about Sedo price setting

I have a domain I wish to sell however have hit a quandary having never done it through sedo before...

How do I set a minimum price yet not be forced to sell if it reaches it?

I wish to sell the domain at $0 and simply have offers roll in, and be able to pick the best one, I do not want the first bid of $1 to be legally binding as I have heard quite a few stories on here over time lol

How do I set it so that I can set a low price in the first picture and yet still have offers come in?

As far as I know, you should set the price option to "make offer", just as it is done in your screenshot. In this case the offers are non-binding, and the price is just intended to reflect your expectations. Though Sedo seems to allow $60 (the same for other currencies) as the minimal price.

P.S. Things could've been changed since I had read their FAQs the last time :).

We all need to get tips from the guy that:

regged Rupeecash(.com) Today per whois info

Parked it at Sedo

and has a $20,000 USD bid already on same day

Hmmm.... Lucky or ....am I missing something??

Please correct me if I'm wrong... I just found it interesting

The fact that he has set the price $20,000 doesn't mean that the bid was $20,000. The visible price doesn't limit the actual bid price at Sedo.

Do you think that can be a fake bid?

All we can see is that there was a bid, we have no idea how much it was.

You can list a domain at Sedo with no expected price or minimum bid, so then it defaults to $60 minimum bid. After accumulating as many bids as you want - assuming there are bids - you can then set an expected price or even a fixed price. The fixed price is binding - anyone clicking on Buy at that full price gets the domain.

About Sedo escrow: secure but ONLY if you push the domain to Sedo, NOT direct to the buyer. If Sedo ask you to push direct to the buyer, refuse and point out to them they say they offer a free escrow service and so it is your right to push to Sedo only if you want to.

Its fake bid no doubt, his sedo seller status showing member since October 2011, probably he created this account with a bad indention.

---------- Post added at 10:14 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:13 PM ----------

Now looks sedo cancelled bid on rupeecash

Parking system of sedo is not that good. The design should be more creative and keywords integration need improvement..

Has anyone tried using Sedo's site on a mobile device? It's terrible.

So when will Sedo wake up and create a usable mobile site? That isn't just a service to buyers, it is an essential expectation for sellers. You want as many people as possible to be able to bid at all times.

No joking, yesterday's .me auction lost the .me registry at least $1k because this buyer could not bid some new names up to their reserves, but only increase bids on names already bid on. Pathetic, really, and totally out of date. I think the .me registry and other big sellers on Sedo should be told.

Have you seen Sedo new design and functions?

Has anyone else noticed that Sedo have a new message on the Domain Parking Statistics Page:

"Earnings data for the selected date range are based on estimates. The correct data will generally be available after two days."

This really sucks. I have a generic dictionary keyword domain that's averaged between $0.05 and $0.13 per click and just over $20 revenue per year. Now nothing for the most recent 4 clicks which previously showed as $0.05 per? This seems like a blatant rip-off.

Well, I've moved that domain to a different provider.

i ended up jumping ship after my parking pages fell to the bottom of the earth!

It used to be 'if you park with us your page stays up the top of the lisitings' (only if .com)

I have made more in one month parking elsewhere than i did in 5 months with sedo and i have seen an increase in offers

The sedo parking pages are too cluttered and the 'buy this domain' just does not stand out enough

But like any 'big company' now they make money they don't listen to the folk who got them there

I'm in the process of jumping ship right now. I've been a fairly happy Sedo customer for the past five years but I feel they've just cut their own throats with the recent parking earnings downgrade. 50% of my most recent clicks have been revised to $0.00 after 2 days. This is scandalous. It seems they can just cut to zero and keep all the revenue for themselves.

well, they have to find the money to pay for all their great improvements :)
greed on!

Totally agree.

Also when a domain is actually on auction you have no way of knowing that from the parking page - it really should highlight the fact that the domain is in an auction ending soon, and give the date so anyone casually looking understands they have to act now, not come back some other time.

Anyone have faced such situation where external domain transfer initiated through sedo escrow, but buyer not made payment after repeated request from sedo, after particular time period sedo cancelled the transaction and sent outstanding commission invoice to seller.

How handled such situation?

Thanks

Try sending them an email or contacting them through their customer support portal.

Alternatively, maybe you can contact a Sedo rep here on NP.

They wouldn't disable your account unless you broke your TOS with them so try finding out why this happened.
