Hi All! :hi:

By request, we've decided to start a thread dedicated to Sedo. We're looking for invaluable insight into what domainers want and need out of our parking program (and marketplace, of course).

Questions, comments, suggestions, tips are welcome! We're hoping this will be a great discussion about what works at Sedo and what might not (please be constructive and respectful to others in your feedback) so that everyone involved can benefit and learn from it.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas! Happy Holidays!

Always,
Keith
(on behalf of Sedo)

All works fine for me. I got 30/4 Mbit fiber and I'm connecting from central Europe.

Anyway, I've dropped all domains from sedoparking and I'm happy as i can be :)
Marketplace is still huge.

You are supposed to get a confirmation email with your monthly parking report summary on the 10th of each month. I think that you are supposed to have payment within your account by the 15th. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Yes, if your Payout Limit has been reached, you will receive notification of a Credit Note being created usually on the 10th. Payments are issued by the 15th of every month.

Multiple clicks at Sedo?

Is anyone else seeing something like this? I assume it is an error in reporting, not a new method of reporting.

Whats up with Sedo recently? On about ½ of my domains the links all changed to link farm pages such as findstuff.com and I get 1¢ - 2¢ per click if I get anything at all!

Thats the problem with Sedo, a select set of members can get away with anything, like qualifying for Top Domain Listing with absolute garbage domains, Using unrelated keywords to steal the traffic revenue off those who follow the rules. I have always said there is something not right about Sedo, things dont add up. I suspect they have a couple of bad apples in the barrel.

Account reopened :)

A couple weeks ago I received an email from Sedo claiming my domain names did not meet their standards so they closed my account, which was sadly understandable :hehe:

After some people responded here (from page 24), I finally decided to return their original email and I received this:

Hello,

Thank you for your email. I saw that your Sedo account has been closed in error, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. I have gone ahead and reopened your account so that you may continue to buy, sell, and park domain with Sedo.

If you have any other questions please let me know. I will be happy to assist you.

Subject: RE: Sedo Domain Parking

After reading some posts from Namepros.com members, I wonder if you would be willing to reactivate my account if I do not park domains. Or if I want to park a domain, I will contact Sedo for permission first. Is this possible?

Thanks for the info and advice guys

Ok, I will comment on this. I believe that in some cases the keyword actually doesn't even matter. Sedo uses Google for ads, and sometimes Google will set the ads for you, and your keyword won't make a difference. They will probably base it on the domain name, but who really knows their methods.

Also, I believe that it matters more sometimes where your visitor is from and what he does, then the keyword. I have received $5+ clicks on adult terms many times at Sedo, with adult keywords set. I even posted on Namepros about it when it first happened. Maybe they were exceptionally good conversions. My guess though, is that the above situation, the $5 clicks got almost immediately adjusting back down on subsequent clicks (Sedo still probably paid for those clicks though). Sedo pays immediately, instead of estimating and paying the next day. They can sometimes overpay or underpay. It is supposed to balance out over time.

This is all my opinion about the matter, I don't have proof about any of the tube domains in question, so please consider that. I will say once again though, that Sedopro does not have the lowest payouts for me. :tu:

When I first joined Sedo, I thought it was the best thing since sliced bread. In my naiveity I saw it as a platform of equal opportunity for one and all. However, the same as everyone does, I got a bit more up to speed on various aspects and realised that it is not an ideal place for newbies. There is no mention of Sedo pro on the site, ( I cant find it anyway), and the whole system seems to be geared to Sedo Pro members. I suspect they get a bigger percentage share from parking revenue than ordinary members, and probably a lot of other benefits, which doesnt give ordinary Sedo members much chance. Also the management team seem to just tolerate ordinary members but bend over backwards for their elite members. Ok, I understand that they have to look after good revenue earners, but anyone with sense knows that without little fish, the big ones will die. With Sedo consistently selling most of the top domains and taking a large percentage of all advertising revenue, at the moment they must be earning vast fortunes, which unfortunately breeds complacency. To continue at the top they will have to lose some of their arrogance IMO and start looking at the future, that is if they have not already made enough money and no longer care. As far as the small fish go, the platform is ok for flipping a few domains for a small profit, but as far as parking goes, a complete waste of time.

Hi,

We noticed this issue last week and I notified our Tech team of the issue. They let me know today that this glitch has been fixed, and you should now able to Optimize your domains without any problems :) .
