Hi All! :hi:

By request, we've decided to start a thread dedicated to Sedo. We're looking for invaluable insight into what domainers want and need out of our parking program (and marketplace, of course).

Questions, comments, suggestions, tips are welcome! We're hoping this will be a great discussion about what works at Sedo and what might not (please be constructive and respectful to others in your feedback) so that everyone involved can benefit and learn from it.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas! Happy Holidays!

Always,
Keith
(on behalf of Sedo)

Question
Why aren't all contact details visible during a domain transfer?

Answer
As Sedo is a neutral and confidential marketplace, we will not release any information about you to the other party involved during the domain negotiation process. All information provided to us is anonymous and secure.

However, once a sales agreement has been reached, a buyer will be given the sellerโ€™s full name and physical address as provided to Sedo. After the transaction has been completed, a seller will then be given the buyerโ€™s full name and physical address. No other contact information will be given out at any time.

Yes this is what I want to know.
Because sometimes you want to hide
I had that question because if the buyer know who you are, maybe he don't buy with the higher price, etc...
e.g buy or sell to many another after

thanks

hi,
just a quick question for the Sedo experts please.

i understand Sedo has millions of domains on their system, so does it make a lot of difference if you pay for a showcase listing for your domains on Sedo? im guessing if you have really good keyword domains buyers will find you where ever you are, but what about if you have brandable names that really need to be promoted - is it worth it?

i guess what im really asking is, do you guys sell most of your domains through Sedo by paying for exposure.

any advice would be helpful, thanks.

Jumping in here. I recently applied some domains for inclusion in their upcoming .me auction. I received the following response:
Dear XXXXX XXXXXX,

Thank you for choosing the 'Premium Auction' to sell your domains.

Unfortunately, after a detailed assessment, the following domains have not qualified (the specific reason is indicated in parentheses after each domain):
- cache[d0t]me (Quality requirements not met)
- content[d0t]me (Quality requirements not met)
- fab[d0t]me (Quality requirements not met)
.
.
.

There were ten names in all. Each one of similar keyword popularity.

I know gauging quality is subjective, but I wonder who is doing the judgment at Sedo? I'm thinking about regging banana[d0t]me to appease the selection committee.

Go here http://sedo.com/us/home/getting-started/?tracked=&partnerid=&language=us put in a keyword and search. If it is anything other than .com/.net/.org/.us it will get lost in the hundreds of other "options" thrown up by their useless system as .com is given priority irrespective of the keyword relevance. Surely any keyword cctld, tld etc should come out at the top of a proper search system? :td:

Sedo recently sold a two word .com for $38,000.

I submitted the hyphenated .com version at a low reserve and it was rejected as not meeting criteria! :P

How to sign on PDF documents?

Hello fellow NamePros members. I had created an account with Sedo. However, in order to list domains for sale, I need to sign on a .pdf document. I have no idea how to do so. Can anybody enlighten me? Thanks a lot. :)

Print it, sign it, fax it
or
Print it, sign it, scan it, email it
or
Print it, sign it, scan it, print to pdf (You'll need pdf creating software), email it

I've seen two names rejected by Sedo premium auction, being sold for $xx,xxx few days later.
So i'm not surprised. IMHO Sedo should change its judgement staff.

Speed up Sedo Domain verification

i remember i saw on the forum a post when somebody was explaining how to speed up the verification process for domain name at sedo.
it was with some kind of email address you can send an email from the email address listed in the whois of the domain - something like that - i am not really sure.

any one knows of something like that ?

Anyone else noticed a significant decrease in their traffic stats at Sedo lately? Since they made some changes on Nov. 1, every time I log in and look at the "Domain Parking" section of my control panel, the number of hits I'm getting on various domains has been WAY low.

Normally, by this time of day, I'd have views on at least 20-25 different domains, and now it's only 8.

Anyone else seeing these changes?
Yes, i am experiencing the same thing. My number of domains receiving clicks have dropped considerably from last month from 19 down to 5. Also the pay per click seems to have nosedived on most and hence the revenue is poor. One domain has gone from 12c a click to 1c. Combine all of this with the now terrible mess on doing a search on anything but a top tld and you would wonder why they seem to have shot themselves in the foot.

I used to make a small income from parking on Parked and SEDO and it was ok a couple of years ago. Now i don't even bother trying. When my names are due to expire i stick them on Parked to see if they would earn enough to make it worthwhile renewing them and if not i just let them expire. Now when i reg a name it is to list a name on SEDO purely to sell hoping that someone will spot it amongst the other few million listed.

I reckon that the only way to make a reasonable income in the industry nowadays is with a well marketed site selling or marketing a niche product. Don't really see the point on spending money and time developing a site just to earn a few measly cents on adsense.

I guess it is a bit of a hobby for me so i am prepared to spend a bit on my hobby, not that i have much to spend.

My stats at SedoPro have changed dramatically since the Nov 1st change (aka "Sedo Parking Statistics Cleanup").

Although Uniques and clicks have decreased, EPC and CTR have increased significantly. My RPM has doubled since the change.

I am very happy with the new parking program changes.

It seems to me before it did spit out the keyword(s) in many extensions before listing all the lengthy .com combination domains. I used to do that to get comparisons for setting fixed prices.

Now it does seem to put poor quality .coms at the top, and a nice keyword in .tv is almost unfindable.

When can you move your domains out of SEDO?

It sounds like SEDO might not be paying as much for parked domains as other auction sites. What are the best paying parked domains site? Once you've parked your domains at SEDO, how long before you can park them elsewhere? Thanks for any input.
