SEDO - Auction Search

Hi Guys

Wonder if you could help me ?
Against my better judgement, I put a domain name up for sale via Direct Auction at Sedo.com

Long story short is :
1) Auction page says 444 hits to date.
2) I can only find my auction listing 'searchengine.io' with an exact match search.

I cannot see how i have gotten 444 hits, when i cannot even find my auction listing myself!

I have even tried a blank search to show the current running auctions.
It says 97 results but it actually only shows 14 results by relevance.
When i search by time remaining (descending) it says 106 results by only shows 19 !


Please could you try searching for my auction listing and post your results ?

And just to put it simply......

If you goto https://sedo.com/us/buy-domains/auction-calendar/ and click the 'View running auctions button' - it says there are 94 results , yet only 13 actual show up. My auction is nowhere to be found !!

Something seriously wrong here @Sedo

I have requested a refund and an explanation via email.

I am experiencing the same. Since last night, the running auctions (marketplace and upcoming) not showing correctly. Only getting 13 or so as well....but none of the ending soonest auctions.

@Bearded Goat - thanks for your reply and the heads up. Much appreciated.

Their system is very poor, and it is possible i guess, there have been other periods where their search system has not be operating correctly.

Additonally, Since my auction started i haved searched for searchengine (relevance) but yet my searchengine.io domain has NOT once appeared in the search results.

Paying $59 for an auction you would think would make it relevant.

Here is something else I have reported via a support ticket today. Domains are not showing correct pricing. Many of mine are showing the old owner's pricing when searching for the domain. And not showing buy it nows that have been added. The problem is that sedo does not work on weekends or holidays....It is the weekend and Monday is a holiday...

@Bearded Goat I also had this issue with pricing, but cant remember the domain name(s) in question. However, I did just find one domain thats listed at £549 and there is another link showing it for sale at $2999! When i click the $2999 link, it says the price is £549! Seriously? @Sedo

As for the NO customer service on weekends, its just plain stupid @Sedo . IMO, At the very least support should be available for auctions in progress.

I actally sent them an email last saturday about my pending auction, and they didnt reply until 8:21PM CET Thursday! Totally unaccpetable imo.

Just for further documentation purposes. Currently I loaded sedo and am able to now view upcoming .club auctions (could not see these before) but the only RUNNING auctions I can see are 12. And they are all 6, 5 and 4 days left except for topkeys dot com (ending in 20 hr 46 min) and windenergie dot com (ending in 5 hr)

Yes. I can see those as well. And .club and .ski auctions. Which are yet to start.

Another thing ive just noticed. If you search the running auctions, and sort by time left ascending. It says 87 results, but lists NOTHING!

They seriously cannot expect us to pay for such a shambolic service..... @Sedo

What makes this doubley frustrating is that, as they do not have customer service at weekends, they wont be resolving these issues. Or/and by the time they are back Monday (dont think its a holiday where sedo at based), they perhaps wont even recognise or acknowledge there even ever was any problems.

I get the same when sorting. But if I sort descending is when I see the 12 plus upcoming club etc. I have a saved search for time left ascending and when I use that I see nothing at all... That is why I submitted a ticket and also posted here so they will at least have record of someone complaining about the problems. I am sure it is extremely frustrating for you having spent money for a direct auction.

Just to follow up....

• Problems described in thread still remain.

However, traffic to the auction page has gone from 444 to 552 in the 21 hours since i opened this thread!

The only explanation i can think of for this, is that the page is getting a lot of fake/bot traffic or this is another sedo bug. Anyone else have any ideas?

• This thread has only had 79 hits, so its not all come from here.
• I have a couple of links on twitter, but those pages only get minimal traffic.
• Searchengine.io does not redirect to the auction page, so its not type-ins.
• I am not aware of anywhere else the auction URL is listed.

@Bearded Goat yeah i was kinda hoping we could get a decent discussion going on this. Fingers crossed today, some others get involved.

Again @Sedo , it is utterly shambolic (and the problems in this thread clearly demonstrate why) that you do not offer customer support at the weekend, on ANY level. You operate paid services, therefore those who have paid for services, should be able to access customer support 24/7, at the very least in emergencies.

Its especially irresponsible atm imo, as the new sedo site has been so heavily panned online by many and seemingly plagued with issues since its launch.

I just paid for a direct auction on Friday and the auction was supposed to start 9/3 at 12pm. Auction never started..

I have 2 open tickets from early last week for a different issue and no response. I used their live chat (their 2 hour availability) live chat and said I was 2nd in line. Waited 15 mins just for it to say no representatives are available for my question.

I like sedo as I have sold many domains there, but so many issues now and basically no support from the staff.

@B0NES are you seeing problems with the running marketplace auctions...meaning only a handful are showing and not in the right order, etc.

@B0NES sorry to hear about your problems. They took 3 1/2 business days to respond to a query regarding my auction last week. Their customer service always used to be very prompt. Im guessing they are a bit overwhelmed because of the all these technical issues.

The whole situation is a catastrophic failure on sedos part. I just hope they do the decent and right thing, and take responsibility.

Yes, I only see like half a page when I go to view the auctions.

@B0NES yeah for me only 15 showing out of 93 that are currently running!

It is suprising bcos of that, that we havent seen more action on this thread.....
