not big user or even fan of sedo here.. so this is news to me:

just discovered its possible to leave sedo listing as MAKEOFFER
and then enter a price too.
when that's done, the visitor sees something like:
make offer field AND something called "asking price"
live example: www.03.rs

question.. how does this asking price, differ from buynow price when the listing type is just set to buynow?

if say my asking price is $800. and someone makes me offer of 800$ is it consdeired as sold by sedo? or do we still negotiate?

my conclusing and personal opinion here is that sedo's thinking behind all this is that whenever seller leaves lisitng type as makeoffer, it implies he does not have a set bin in mind. and therefore even if he enters one (asking price) sedo still will keep it all as open, non binding, and free to any or all negotiating for both parties.

thoughts?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

If someone submits an offer, you have the option to accept, make a counter offer or push the domain to auction (for free). If you push it to auction the buyers offer will be the starting bid and the auction will be no reserve.

thanks, but my question was a different and very specific one.
if you'd like, you're welcome to read through it

or perhaps you are like me, and had no idea such a functionality even existed. I am quite sure many people do not.

cheers

No worries. I'm assuming that if it's an offer submitted it won't be the same as BIN. You should have option to decline or accept offer?

yes, interesting indeed.
that was my assumption as well, when I said it in my last paragraph.
however, it can confuse some buyers.. and sellers it seems.

masybe someone more used to selling on sedo can make this go beyond assumptions and opinions for us.

the ideal is to do like everyone else.. godaddy. afternic.. and offer 3 types of listings... make offer only.. bin only.. bin+make offer... seems sedo got so innovative it came up with a 4th one that only exists in sedo world.

cheers

Hi

your example in initial post now points to voodoo

but you can see example here:

https://sedo.com/search/details/?do...ge=us&p=2_1&trackingOrigin=1&fromExactMatch=4

there is an "asking price" and a "minimum offer amount" and a space for you to submit your offer.

so, you can either enter the asking price of $8,250 and hopefully the seller will accept, or you can submit an offer that is higher than the listed minimum amount of $90.

hope that clarifies it

imo....
