Bloody hell.....not only PayPal froze my accounts.....but Sedo is taking ages to get this payment for $330......look at this:

3 August : OZUD.com auction at SEDO ends at $330

5 Aug : Sedo rep. Ara writes me....

Dear Mr. Cesarei,

Both parties have now confirmed their contact details and the sale of ozud.com can now proceed. A payment request has been placed in the buyer's user account and an email has been sent asking them to make payment for this domain as soon as possible. We ask buyers to make payment within 10 working days.

Should the buyer not make payment within the first 7 working days they will receive an automatic email reminder and your transfer agent will make every attempt, both via email and telephone, to contact the buyer in order to determine when payment will be made. You will be contacted once your transfer agent has received confirmation that the payment has been received and processed.

Please rest assured that every effort is being made to ensure that the buyer makes payment promptly, and we shall contact you when there are further developments to report.

This is an automatically generated notification. Please do not reply to this email.

Best regards,

Ara Zusky

12 August: I write her back...

Hello Ara,

I`m wondering if there is any progress on this transaction as I need some money to purchase another domain.

Could you please push a little bit the buyer to harry up with the payment?

Thank you in advance

Best regards,

14 August: she replies...

Hello Lorenzo,

Please be informed that we have contacted the buyer in regards to the outstanding escrow payment that is needed in order to proceed with the transfer. You will be contacted immediately upon receipt of more information.

Thank you for your continued patience.

Few minutes ago: I`m pissed off...about PayPal so I need to argue with someone hell !! :yell: :hehe:

Dear Ara,

thank you for your reply, I`m sure you and the other staff at Sedo are wellaware of the general compleining status that many sellers have towards these delays that Sedo faces too often comparated to other Brokers like Afternic/Buyomains.com

I understand that sometimes these buyers are not so fast but many people are spreading rumours that Sedo is understaffed.

There also should be some more rigid rules where both buyers and sellers should meet and waiting more than 2 weeks for a $330 payment is simply unacceptable.

I have been a very active member of many online communities specialised in domain names such as NamePros.com and I know what I`m talking about.

I also understand that you are not the SEDO director but maybe it`s good to forward to him some of our complains and not only to read all the good news about the millions of names Sedo has for sale.

Thank you

Best regards,

Lorenzo Cesarei

Sedo cannot be parental to these figures not paying, how could they? If a buyer doesnยดt pay accordingly, and maybe there are many of those and more now than earlier, Sedo can only, and should, ban them.

Could be the number of domain luxury dreamers are going up and Sedo simply doesnยดt have time to deal with them.
Some people never pay. I know that with some sale experience. people who ordered things but then never went to pay it out ( so I only lost the freight costs), but by then a couple of years ago, it was only ca 2% who behaved like that which I think was very good. I didnยดt sell to people who sounded strange, in order to avoid problems. On the net however you donยดt see them so why not think itยดs ok if at least 75% of deals go through?

These should be the reasons, that sale isn't settled yet.

- The highest was a fake bid, so you will not recieve anything.

- If the sale is legit it will take atleast 2 weeks to get a deal settled i.e. what happened in my case for 3 domains.

fake bid? well if that is the case, I simply will relist the name which is even better since in the main time prices have already increased for VCVC.com

I have read here of people being paid within 1 week.

sure sometimes I get paid within a couple of days and sometimes it takes longer, up to 4 weeks. That is all in the game IMO. If you need money that bad, selling it through sedo is not the best option. Sedo first has to receive the money before they can transfer it to you. And even so, if they have the money the domain still has to be transferred too which can also take some time.

I knew that Sedo was not the fastest option, that why I sold here a couple of LLL.mobi as you know :hehe: (damn I just have been informed on what steal you got with that adult term...if I knew it I was charging you double! You smart fox!) but when I offered here ozud.com for sale no one offered more than $100 just a month ago while on Sedo I knew I was going to get more. For short .com, Sedo is better than here.

A lot can depend on your Sedo rep. I had an LLLL.com sell on Sedo and got an email 3 days ago that money had been received and for me to push the domain into Sedo's godaddy account. I've done this but Sedo hasn't taken it yet --- the account change is still pending at godaddy. With another rep I had for another domain sale I got the email to push the domain and I did and within 15 minutes the money was in my paypal account. Like anything else, it can be the luck of the draw re time of payment even once the buyer has paid.

No matter how digital it gets, at the end there is always a person behind the screen...
I have personally no problem at all with my sedo reps. They are always very helpfull.

13 days is not unreasonable; why go flying off the cuff over that?

What's more, the email you sent was full of so many spelling and grammatical errors that for your sake I hope it isn't forwarded to the "director" of Sedo (And I know that is the pot calling the kettle black, but on anything I send that isn't for entertainment purposes only I at least look over the text before sending.).

Patience, and then some more patience.

Re the buyers paying, Sedo has no control over that. But, they can and do ban the accounts of non-paying buyers and kudos to them for that.

I can understand your frustration but I would suggest not relying on one sale so much. Good luck and I hope it works out soon...

On Aug 7, a domain I sold through Sedo was "successfully transferred" to the buyer; unfortunately, Sedo would not pay me until the buyer updated the whois information. The whois info was updated today, so I'm hoping to be paid this week.

When dealing with Sedo, and when a transfer is done (not just a push), be prepared for some time to pass before getting paid.

But it's not just Sedo. Last week I sold a name using TDNAM (GoDaddy). While the selling process was pretty quick, I received an e-mail notifying me that payment would me made in 30 days. Go figure.

It is not Sedo's fault if the buyer does not pay. I have experienced this on my last three sales with Sedo! Yes I was pissed...very pissed!! At the time wasting deadbeat bidder"s, not Sedo.
At the very least Sedo will give you a 30 day featured listing for free. You never know with the extra exposure you may get a higher price anyway.
