Search function for Private Messages

I am finding myself at times searching through PM's for something that i discussed with someone or mentioned to me and i would need to check each and every PM if it would contain the information i am looking for.

I was wondering if it is possible to have a search function for the PM system?
Or would that make the PM system less private?

Would it not be a better option to keep your pm's clean and tidy. 12 main reason people lose things in a mass of pm's is because they do not bother deleting no longer needed messages.

Yep, was added recently.

The way to go before it was added would be download all your messages as .txt and use Ctrl + F.
