Need to rethink on gTLD's :), value must be there.

Are you talking to me or Frank in the article? No way he would invest in thousands of new gTLD's if he didn't see some kind of future value, plain and simple.

As for rethinking gTLD's isn't .com actually considered a gTLD, although not a new gTLD?

Eh, following someone elses lead is a great way to become average. Invest in gtlds because you have done your research on specific niches relevant to the gtld, not because someone else registers a gazillion domains thru his own Company.

Again if this is directed to me I'm not following anyone's lead, I do my own homework. I'm simply commenting on Franks big investment in NEW gTLDS and in the thousands. :xf.rolleyes:

So he bought them from himself.

Sounds like with a click he just turned them into reserved premiums.

Nobody else had wanted to register them. Nobody likes to go into an empty restaurant.

I guess I missed something.

He has registered hundreds of GTLD's that are owned by HIS own company?

Another publicity stunt for the nTLDs and for the registry that operates them. :-,

Yeah .com is a gTLD and I don't think anyone consider it as new.

The above post stated this: " Need to rethink on gTLD's :)"

I'm just pointing out that .com is a gTLD too so why would I need to rethink on gTLD's!!!

Being a registry is like a license to print money.

Never register domains of a certain type just because someone else did it.. Always do your own due diligence..

Can you please explain how this has any reference to the news article? I'm getting confused as to why the elder members are not reading the article before posting odd comments.

He registered domain names in his own TLDs, which means he didn't really pay for them. How is that a commitment or leap of faith ? It's just zone stuffing to make TLDs look bigger than they really are.

Well if I'm missing something here he reged 500+ .xyz domains and what does he have to do with them?

Show me this, please, or stop the propaganda.

Oh, man! Registering a mere 500+ odd .xyz registrations along with a whopping 75K other nTLD registrations makes any usual pattern? As sdsinc said, he registered around 75k nTLD names from the registry he operates, and he registered a considerably negligible percentage of .xyz (just 0.6%) to make the remaining 99.4% of the registrations to be realistic in order to create a hype.

Don't keep on repeating that he registered 500+ xyz in your every reply! :D

Frank owns and controls .xyz, it's his, proof please and I'll exit.
