I am interested in learning more about DNWE point # 3) " When i buy portfolios these often include some very rare domains which would benefit being listed on DNWE".
If i buy a portfolio of 5,000 names then around 25 to 50 will be high value names.

As i am buying in bulk then i can sell some premiums into DNWE which makes them great buys for people to buy 1 of - it returns some of my original capital quickly and the buyer gets a great priced premium domain that could only be achieved if someone originally buys in bulk and passes on some of the value.

I buy & sell a lot so am not looking to maximise every sale - i can afford to leave money on the table for other people and still do well.

It always comes down to buying at the right price and using data to work out what that price should be.

What do you think of the current state of the domain aftermarket?

Its interesting -

There are no decent auction platforms for 3rd party listers but when we release auctions on DNWE then that will be really interesting - we will also enable public auction listings where people can flick a switch and have a public auction listing.

I avoid GD and NJ/SN as they are overpriced but there are other places where bargains can be had like NameSilo (one of my hidden gems) and one other that nobody knows about (Not an auction platform but i use it to find floor prices and also for finding domains withe specific keywords like Pay, RV or Taxi etc etc)

Hello,

I assume you mean ultra premium?

An ultra premium would be something rare, registered before 1996, has good data in terms of DOTDB & search potential coupled with being short, easy to pronounce, easy to remember and have the same meaning around the world like 'home' and not country specific like 'colour' versus 'color'.

Typically i would say dot com but there are also other domains that fit into this category where the SLD & TLD make sense - example charity-org or something like com-net (one of a kind collectibles)

In terms of fast transfer scheme - no we don't plan to do that just yet but we are announcing a partnership on DNWE shortly which takes this into account along with LTO & down payments

1 - Always display the data that promotes the domains in its best light. Example, if creation date is 2004 then say 20 years old. If EXT=20 then display that. If exact match keyphrase has high search volume/intent or high PPC then display that data. If there are good outbound targets then show them.

Assuming you have tried forums, social media & social media groups then some other ideas include ebay, gumtree & flippa.

2 - My main data sources for valuing domains are DOTDB, Age, Godaddy valuation, Google Ads data (for search volume & intent) & AHREF for SEO metrics - this gives a wide range of data points covering all aspects of a domain which allow me to custom value a domain name.

I would recommend the valuation tool that is in Godaddy Domain Academy which explains all the different metrics for valuing a domain name.

3 - I don't believe DNWE has a podcast. Josh may have done some video stuff but this was likely on Sherpa. I have done a few podcasts about outbounding and valuing a domain which can be found on youtube.

Hi Ryan
Welcome!

the registration process

The quality is irrelevant - we just like to know you are human

i saw a dnwe ad which had a name of interest, and on impulse, i clicked to see more info, but it went to signup page.

to me, it was a turn off...even though the name might be worth pursuing in the long run, for the short run i'd pass.

now on the other hand,
if i took the time to signup and list some names and forward them to dnwe platform,
does that mean any traffic/visitors coming from my names will have to signup, before they can see pricing, etc, etc?

and, if that's true, then i'm wondering how many potential lost sales could be attributed to that initial hurdle?

seems like seeing the price or being able to get more info first, would make better bait, than having to signup beforehand.

i get the bot blocking issue, but to that extent, it could be preventing visitors from window shopping and making impulse buys.

just saying....

Good Luck, though!

imo...

@biggie One of the good things about DNWE is that an investor can have a public end user price at Afternic, Sedo etc. but still list the domain at a wholesale price privately, in a place that isn't being indexed by search engines. Even if prices are posted on social media or forums in a JPEG, public discussions could ensue and then discussions about a domain's wholesale price at a certain moment in time would be out there for potential end users to find in the future. If DNWE starts listing prices publicly I'd stop selling there. That's how I view it anyway as someone who's bought and sold a lot of domains there since day 1.

Thanks for the feedback.

We had a vote by members about sharing of data and it was very emotive and not clear enough in one direction or the other so we need to have a revote.

To be able to publicly display sales data we need agreement from members.

DNWE is different from other sales platforms as you don't need to point nameservers but you will need to verify ownership via TXT or NS record (coming in next update).

DNWE is a private investor marketplace so the best thing to do is signup which is free and then you can see the inventory on the platform & access some bargain domains.

Hi, please appraise
Lendars.com
namepros.com/threads/lendars-com-landing-pages-with-lending.1329043/
Lendars.com
DOTDB = 1
End Users Google/Crunchbase/Linkedin/Yahoo/Bing = 0
Google Auto Correct = Active (thinks you are looking for 'calendars' or 'lenders')
Age = 2 weeks old
GDV = $1,540
AVG Search Volume 'Lendars' pm = 3,600 pm (probably from typos)
AVG CPC = 5c
AHREF = 0

This is a sit and wait domain - i would price at $4,499 (for an end user) but it is unlikey to sell at any price in the next 2 years.

I am not a Dan.com customer yet. Listened to June 2024 on www.domainnamewire.com podcast # 486 at 22:00 minutes onward, where Paul Nicks from Godaddy inferred that they are going to "single focus" on GoDaddy and Afternic. Any thoughts about where is dan.com services going to stand?

Let me come back to these later on to quote some numbers but baccar.at is a good domain hack.

I heard that episode too. I guess it makes sense for GD to consolidate dan into AF as AF has a good reputation and Dan has the tech.

It is a shame to lose a platform that people love but when one person leaves another person enters!
Neither platform has innovated hugely so it creates space for new innovators to bring a fresh perspective to the table.

I dont think i have ever been involved in an industry that is so mature and yet so undeveloped (pun not intended!)

Sorry to hear about your situation.

You have some great domains. Have you considered listing on DNWE as your 4 letter coms are very well priced.

I am in the middle of going live on Brandable so timing is not great but i will email a few people to let them know about this post.
Thank you so much for your kind words.

Hi @RyanEwen. Welcome to NP! Someone must hate you; I ask a lot of questions, and it was suggested you might have some answers. You poor thing! ๐Ÿ˜‰

I get that automated valuations arenโ€™t to be relied on; but, as a newbie, I use them as guardrails. I usually compare six different ones when determining selling price, giving more weight to some services over others.

One of the highest of these six (NW, a paid service) estimates my 400+ domain portfolioโ€™s value at over $2 million, while the most conservative service estimates its retail value at well over $100k (Esti).

For context, I started domaining to share a message [of hope], but I have to at least earn enough to pay renewals. Even just a tenth of that lower value ($10k) within the next six months would allow me to keep playing this game.

What do you suggest? I have a day job and so creating over 400 websites with original content in hopes of qualifying for a Google Adsense account isnโ€™t ideal. Many of my domains (2-3 words) contain keywords, and so one would think cashparking should be viable, no? Thanks for your time.

What are the most important things that must be done (e.g., built) to change that?

What do you think of Andrew's efforts with RallyRd, and how important is that initiative toward this goal?

Thanks.
