In your opinion what type of domain is a Quantum Premium?

Hello,

I assume you mean ultra premium?

An ultra premium would be something rare, registered before 1996, has good data in terms of DOTDB & search potential coupled with being short, easy to pronounce, easy to remember and have the same meaning around the world like 'home' and not country specific like 'colour' versus 'color'.

Typically i would say dot com but there are also other domains that fit into this category where the SLD & TLD make sense - example charity-org or something like com-net (one of a kind collectibles)

I get it but the wording makes it sound as though investors need to submit their best names to qualify for registration. It's almost as if people need to have 3L domains or premium 1 word names to qualify.

typically GD is preferred (so buyer can account push for free during transfer lock period)

We haven't announced it yet because we aren't 100% sure we will run with it.

We did look at id-com but on reflection apart from the price it was probably a bit too serious and would suit government or some identity checking service.

We also looked at domainer specific domains to make a statement like stud, symobilcs, dn and several others but this was when we really realised that we wanted a consumer facing brand as if you provide A* support and have a great product then domainers will naturally come on board but the hard part is getting average joe to trust a brand, feel safe and transact on it.

We basically want a consumer facing brand that we can make people feel safe and tell a story about. That is why originally we wanted Digital Candy.

Honestly it is all about making sure you are human - domain investing occurs at all levels - while i like ultra premium domains i am domain agnostic and believe beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I would also love to tell you i have sold domains for $10m+ but my bread and butter is in the $5k-$20k range. I do a fair few 6 figure sales but the bit that keeps me going financially is the lower end sales.

In terms of fast transfer scheme - no we don't plan to do that just yet but we are announcing a partnership on DNWE shortly which takes this into account along with LTO & down payments

Yes i am familiar with it - i think all innovation is great and NP are doing a great job.

I do wonder how it affects sales prices as NP has huge online visibility for wholesale transactions and wonder if people go to make and offer and pop into NP and does that affect their buying journey.

People think i am an OG but in reality while i have bought a number of domains for work projects over the last 15 or 20 years (typically from end-users) i have only been a full time domainer since 2020 - and the last 18 months have had more of a focus on sorting distribution (creating platforms).

There are a couple of things we are doing in this area:

1) I personally see a lot of good deals - instead of buying them i am diverting them to DNWE
2) I have a lot of contacts who aren't aware of DNWE so i am making them aware
3) When i buy portfolios these often include some very rare domains which would benefit being listed on DNWE
4) I am working with a couple of big brokers and incentivising them to list on DNWE
5) I am looking at creating an affiliate scheme where people can benefit from recommending the platform to others
6) I am making other big buyers aware of the platform so they can come in and buy - if we drive up sales then more people will list
