Okay, I've got the domain bug so I bought:

ClassicRockFacts.com
BiteMyNails.com
OldWineBar.com
LargeBanana.com (for obvious nutritional value, haha!!)
TheCityOfNewburgh.com
RockAroundTheClock.org

My most valuable seems to be rockaroundtheclock.org according to Estibot, and it will prob suit me well since my main business is a recording studio/record label (nadarecording.com/brokenenglishrecords.com) but after a little searching around on this forum it seems like I may be stepping over the line with a TM issue for rockaroundtheclock.org. If anybody has any advice for a noob on what the best money making possibilities for any of these domains it would be greatly appreciated!!

John

1st, be very careful how you value domain names. Estibot is a tool, and the values it places on domain names really should not be used as fact. In other words, Estibot is good at giving you an idea if a domain has value, placing an exact value on it is another story.

The domains you have listed look very much like a rookie domainers portfolio. There are a few tips I will recommend when buying domain names.

1. Would you buy this domain name for your business? (Pretend your the ideal buyer, does this make sense for you and at what price)

2. Product and Service domain names are a valueable way to go (These domains are easy to rank for their keywords, and are desirable to internet marketers and company owners for that reason)

I kind of like BiteMyNails.com - but its a domain with limited use potential. The only site I can imagine is a site that talks about scary movies or frightening experiences with ghosts, etc. Value is going to be limited to low XX reseller, and probably only mid to high xx end-user IF you find someone who has to have that name. However, my bet would be none of these ever find an end-user.

Good luck and welcome to NamePros.

Thanks so much guys!! I am definitely a rookie and was very excited to find these names still out there. My thinking was that all of these domains would be long gone by now. It all started with ClassicRockFacts.com. I literally woke up from a dream thinking who in the Beatles had the best career after the band broke up. As I was opening my eyes I thought I should go to ClassicRocksFacts.com to find out. When I found out the site didn't exist the wheels started turning in my head so I bought the domain with the intention on starting a blog about classic rock bands. So far all I have is a link to my facebook page but I would like to get it to full website status and get it to the point where I could sell off ad space to classic rock radio stations around the country.

While I do have a couple more good domains on my list I will not be buying anymore domain names for a while until I get a better game plan and develop the ones that I have now. All this brings me to my next question. Where and how do I find decent developers? Haha! I'm sure if I hang around this site a bit more I can answer that question myself but would appreciate any suggestions you guys have.

BTW, Ringo had the best career for the first 5 years after the Beatles, but afterwards, John ended up blowing everyone out of the water. Thanks again guys!!
