On second thought, **** YOU. I know you're a scammer who wants me to pay for an appraiser (which is worthless anyway) so you can make money. Don't email me again.

Do you have any registered domain names?
The WHOIS records are available to the public, including the e-mail address
that is listed in your contact info.

Here we go again. Thank you to all who posted the warnings about this eheeemmm "investor"...You folks have saved me from a poor experience and I owe you a debt of gratitude for posting this thread. So, after reading this post I attempted to find out who he was and the company contact info so that I could just make it public knowledge here, but it didn't work. I just terminated the conversation and requested he not contact me again. It is interesting that no matter what I said, he "canned" his responses and avoided direct questions...Read on!

This is our email conversation bottom to top...

This discussion is now terminated Carter. Thank you for your time. Please do not contact me again.

It's a standard practice to show independent valuation to buyers/resellers.
Nobody will do business without it. I'm a businessman and have no intention
of changing rules which help both parties to avoid additional risks.

Of course, investors never take into account auto-generated vlauations. So
manual valuation is a "must" too.

I read the following information about appraisals at:

Can you accept 5,000 USD?

Do you sell domain with a web site or just the name?

Domain without content is ok with me. Web site is not necessary.

Have you had your domain names evaluated in the past? I mean domain appraisals. Without valuation we cannot be sure in the sale price. It's very important for me in terms of reselling too. But we must engage a valuation company with REAL manual service. So I will only accept valuations from independent sources I and my partners trust.

To avoid mistakes I asked domain experts about reputable appraisal companies.

Please check this blog with suggestions from other sellers and buyers:
webtalk . 007sites . com / Archive / 461239 .htm <----Beware!!!!!!

If, for example, the valuation comes higher you can adjust your asking price accordingly. It will be fair. I also hope you can give me 12% - 15% discount.

After you send me the valuation via email (usually it takes 1-2 days to obtain it) we'll continue our negotiations.

What is your preferred payment method: Escrow.com, International wire transfer, PayPal.com or something else?

Hope we can come to an agreement fast.

Looking forward to your reply.

You are more then welcome to submit an offer based on the terms and conditions stated @ www.domainnamejuggler.com/terms.html in addition to www.sedo.com TOS. You may make that offer with Sedo for the domain, and if accepted, it will go to auction, or if the offer is deemed high enough, the transaction will be carried out with www.escrow.com only (privately). To make an offer, you must agree with those posted terms.

Please feel free to invest your own funds in any assessment of the domain you feel necessary to satisfy your questions. The Domain Name Juggler will not pay for any such services under any circumstances. Keep in mind, your company is well documented on the various "domaining communities".

Well, I was burned!

His new name is Carter..

I have realize the scam after I accidently used another email, and he send me different link to the fake board,
check out:
http://webtalk.007sites.com/Archive/461239.htm
http://webtalk.007sites.com/Archive/472853.htm

He said that he already made another company's appresial.. and when I said please show me the link I want to see it.. he dissapear..

Well I hope PLIMUS to refund my 80 EURO.. but I do not belive so..

here is our conversation by email..:

Your valuation looks reasonable enough and I agree with it.

To get a fair value I ordered another valuation from different site.

Since it's not smart to rely on one valuation only.

I've got the figure already. It's very close the result of your valuation.

Of course, I expected a lower estimation :) .

Anyway, now I see from different sources that your name has a good
potential.

My partners told me about ICANN rule that prohibits domain reselling before
two months from registration. I did not want to wait for two months.

Here is my solution:

I search for a buyer and get 14%-15% upon sale. I wrote about reselling in
first emails.

Of course, I don't require exclusive rights to sell. You can try to sell at
the same time. If I find a buyer faster I get my 15%.

I've already bought opt-in lists to promote your domains. I invested about
$150 in these opt-in lists.

I was already contacted by an individual regarding your domain. His partner
was interested in purchasing. He asked for valuation certificate. I've
already sent him your appraisal link upon receiving his request.

Of course, I cannot list your names with brokers and auctions since I'm not
the owner.

I'm going to use your valuation in my promotio? Is it ok with you?

I think if you list your domains with several brokers and auctions it will
help us. Many buyers prefer to buy through auction sites or domain brokers.
Moreover, many brokers help with transfer. I'm not the owner so I can only
use my database to promote your domains and I cannot list. As the owner, you
can list your domains on www.eBay.com, www.Amazon.com, www.EasyNameSale.com
and www.Pool.com. Please don't forget to send your auction links.

Ok. Keep me informed.

To: "Carter" <[email protected]

Hello Carter, I have paid them finaly..

Well I should wait 3 days as they require.. going to keep you informed!

It's a big risk to proceed without professional valuation. I already spoke
to industry experts and they prohibited me to do business without
valuation..

Without manual valuation nobody will buy. You'll sit on your domain for
years in this case, paying renewal fees to your registrar. Just think about
it. So sooner or later, you'll have to obtain an appraisal. Why waste time
now?

As a seller, you can use a valuation certificate to sell names to other
buyers. I cannot do the same because I don't keep control over your domain.

I'm still interested in your domain. Hope you'll change your position. I
simply don't want to take additional risks.

Thank you for understanding. I'm looking forward to do business with you.

Hello Carter

I have problem with sending money to the company which make appresial,
well here is the deal.. I am going to sell you the domain for the half
price they provide you for my domain.
If you really need that appresial then please purchase it and just let
me know what they said.
I just spend alot of time with them and I don't want to continue in that
way. Well I keep not trust their services, that is another reason I
don't want work with them too, I am webmaster 10 years ago and I have
very good estimate for what works or not.
Please let me know if that is ok to you and we going to make a deal :)
I have some another very nice domains so if you are interested we can
talk about it

Hi, this person has been around for a number of years now. He is hiding behind providers who keep his identity secret. As one poster has already said, they have reported it to Domainsbyproxy dot com of Arizona, which is his current hiding place. Eliteinvestment dot net has only been there since August but other domains relating to this scammer have been there for 2 years. Now if I owned a company providing this kind of service I think I would have noticed this scammers activities already, given the amount of publicity on the internet. This leads me to suspect that Domainsbyproxy dot com could well be a part of this scam. If it is a genuine and honest business then upon receipt of lots of complaints, Domainsbyproxy dot com should expose the scam. This could be a multimillion dollar scam for all we know and when you are talking that kind of money, there are big fish to fry. If, as has been suggested, lots of people complain to domainsbyproxy, and if they are a genuine business, they would have no choice but to close his account. But then he will probably just move to somewhere else. The real answer is that he needs identifying and prosecuting. There are people out there who know his identity and I believe it is their moral responsibility to expose him. I, for one, will not be giving even one cent to any service or organisation who have helped him.

I don't really want to spend $200US an hour to be quite frank, its a bit steep.

I manage a commercial & residential property valuation firm in Melbourne and our rates are $150AU per hour. Which involves full property inspection, photographs, engineers reports and research on comparable properties in the area.

Either way I have just had an offer from an Australian film production company who is starting work on a movie coincidentally called "Slap My Ex" their offer is $2500AU without going through the valuation process.

We both need independent valuation first.

Sellers always provide buyers with valuations. This is a common practice.

I don't trust $14 services like that GoDaddy's valuation service. Nobody will do a research for $14. We need a real manual service.

I researched several companies and here are the results:

I wanted to engage AccurateDomains.com as appraiser but looks like this company has very bad reputation
Just read this blog
http://accuratedomains.blogspot.com/
So I'm not going to accept this fraudulent service.

I also considered www.Afternic.com, but now it's clear their service is not reliable enough.
Just read this:
http://www.igoldrush.com/links3.htm
"Capsule Review: After lots of complaints, Afternic is no longer a recommended service. We will re-review the service in the near future."

Another complaint
http://www.out-law.com/page-1630

I was told about manual research service from http://www.DomainMart.com. It costs - $200/hour.

Many experienced sellers suggested me www.DomainExplorer.org as a trustworth manual service. They charge per name not per hour. I've read only positive comments about them.

With the money you save you can afford to pay an independant valuer.

I am currently planning to develop SlapMyEx.com, however what sort of value do you have in mind?

After reading some replies here I sent another email:

Actually Don

I've had a change of heart.

How about you just pay for my airfare and we can meet in person? I am more than happy to do a deal for my porfolio of domain names, I own quite a lot and i'm not really interested in money.

In exchange for my portfolio of 1,401 domain names : I will use the most bluntest object I can find, and I shall proceed to savagely beat you over the head with it, I shall continue hitting you until you bleed from your ears and nose and your eye roll back into your skull. Once that is done I shall sodomise you with a broken beer bottle until your colon collapses and you die from blood loss.

Once that is done I shall transfer all domain names into the name of EliteInvestments and I'll consider it a pleasure doing business with you.

Let me know if this deal is suitable for you, I think its quite fair.

Best Regards

Chris

The end of the message was hilarious but I'm not sure their grasp of English is sufficient to understand the irony :D

Hello everyone.. Im new to this forum and the world of domaining. I found this forum after looking up eliteinvesments on google. I had recently parked a couple of sites and advertised there sale price.

I was doing backflips with sheer excitement upon recieving an email offering me $15,000 for one of my domain names. wow my first sale and such easy money I thought... but once my head started to clear after all them yippiees and viva las vegas moments I had the stark realization that this elite investments was nothing but a scam. Ive seen it all before with other online ways of making money so actually was not so dissapointed.

This "DON URBANKSI" chap even had the cheek to try and make himself look human with...

"We were celebrating newborn child of my brother. I apologize for delay with my answer"

The whole email basically is the same as most of your posts on here regarding the independent appraisal and the adjusting of the % price etc etc.

Ive loved reading some of your posts on here regarding this ELITE INVESTER.. Hahahaha!

I was thinking to reply to his oh so generous offer but really dont have the time for this kind of game.

Oh well... hope to sell me first domain sometime soon... 15k would be a lovely start for sure... Hehe.

Cheers all
Paul

me too

Argh, he got me.

I fell for it and bought the appraisal before I wised up and found posts about the scam. This time he's "Sean Thompson".

I've lost $80 and learned a lesson. I guess AboutNASCAR.com isn't worth $5,900! :(

Just reading through this post there are at least a couple who have been stung by this scam @ around $80 each.

Let's say that the success rate for this scam is 4% (4 in 100 pay for an appraisal), for every 1000 emails sent this guy potentially makes $3,200.

It is not beyond the realms of possibility that 10,000 such emails could be sent per month, as they are all generic copies with the domain name changed.

This could result in a return of $16,000 @ 2% - $32,000 @ 4% per month!! All this for doing very little besides answering emails.

SCAM ARTIST - Using many aliases!

Hi All, :tu:

I have just recieved my 2nd offer that is truly too good to be true. This time I checked out the scamsters website which preaches his trading etiquette... haha, I imagine this person knows zilch about financial trading. Heres his name and address as in the whois directory...

THEONLINEBROKERAGE.COM _\|/_

This person goes under (amongst tons of other names) Christopher Eagleson

Dont fall for this scamsters offers for your domain as it will end up costing you money for their apprasial service!
