[REQ-LOGO] $85 prize - Online research tool

Type of Contest : LOGO Design
Prize : $85
Contest End Date & Time : 9pm, 10th Feb 2012
Size Requirements : Approx 300px wide by 80px tall - Please take this as a guideline, it is not essential
Color Requirements :
White background, please. Please use orange & blue as the color scheme guidelines, but get as creative as you like. Alternate color options using a green/teal color would be greatly appreciated.

General Requirements :
The site (not yet online) will allow people to ask questions to a selection of individuals in order to test their ideas.

The approach is based on the focus group approach to research, but focuses solely on asking individuals their opinions, rather than an entire group.

The logo should pretty much be based on the domain name - askaperson.net - but feel free to get as creative as you like.

PLEASE DO NOT USE A SILHOUETTE OF A PERSON IN THE DESIGN (Sorry for the caps on that, but one of the team members here is pretty specific on that)

We would also like to see some alternative designs using an '@' for the 'a' in askAperson.net
We suspect this will make reading it a bit confusing, but we'd like to see some great execution!

Additional Information :
No Additional Info.

Speech bubbles facing each other represents the asking person and replying person.if you like the concept colors can be adjusted to suit exactly to your site color scheme.

i'll appreciate your feedback !:)

Hey ajaydz,

Nice first entry! It's a little obvious, but the concept is good.

We would like it a bit more compact.
This will be used in the header of a webpage, so we want to keep the height of the logo minimized.

Can we see some variations with the text in the speech bubbles (ask in one, person in the other - maybe?).

And of course, whatever else comes to your mind for making it more compact would also be welcome
While we have our own ideas, we'd also like for the designers here to surprise us :)

Thanks!

Hey all,

Really digging the entries so far. Sorry for the delay on the feedback!

Some general feedback that applies to everyone so far:

1) Please include a small '.net' in the logo after the name
2) We would appreciate a stand alone symbol which compliments, or is incorporated into the logo design
3) You can see the bones of our site at www.askaperson.net - color scheme is not finalized yet, but you will see the style we're aiming for.

Now, for individual feedback

Scorpionagency
Nice to see you developed a symbol! But the relevance of the book stack to the concept is not making us excited.

We like your separation of the words with the speech bubble, but the design feels a little rigid.

MastMnds
Really nice effort.
We really like what you have done with the @ and a speech bubble. That works well and has potential. The style of your type is not exactly sitting how we imagine it. Is it possibly to make things a little slighter and possibly more compact? It is sitting a bit heavy we find.

Some alternatives for the styling on the @ symbol would also be appreciated.

Namanda
We like the easy feel to this design, but the vertical element to the question mark skews things out of proportion for us.

If you look at the webpage we posted you'll see that the symbol has to sit in the top left corner. The style of the coloring is tasty though!

Blairwitchii
Really like this effort also. Although we said we don't like a silhoutte, this is pretty nice.

Again, the height issue could be a problem, but we like your use of imagery.

Could you also try something with an @ for the 'a' between Ask & Person?

Really like your type choice, but some alternatives would be nice too.

Gooddesigner
Thanks for the entry, but this is a bit too blocky for our liking. We're going for a much lighter and more personable feel.

The type is a bit too heavy & dark for our liking.

We're looking to convey a more engaging and friendly atmosphere.

Here's a little mood setter for everyone:

Please keep up the good work folks - lots of potential here!

Nice work!

This is a great design. We like what you have done with the symbol and the @ sign, although it looks a little noisy with a few different colors in there.

We would love to see an alteration of this design, with a different type and could you please lose the slight reflective effect?

We like the design without the shiny effects.
Great direction just a variation that is a bit more simplified and with @ part not as pronounced. Thanks!

mosesoliver
Great little entry, we really like the concept of the two speech bubbles on either end, but they look more like quotation marks when they are blocky and one is facing up.

Can you also please include the '.net' ?

Gooddesigner
This is much better, but we think that your symbol with the smiley face has too much going on in it.

It looks overly complicated and a little too distracting.

Simple is a sure winner with us!

And please include the .net

waardii
Great entry!
We love this.

We'd love to see some iterations of this with

1. Try to make the 'a' shape a little more pronounced, without compromising the speech bubble
2. Alternating the color between 'ask' & 'person'
3. Some different typefaces, but in the same mood - you're really close!!
4. Please include the '.net' into the name

blairwitchii
Great rendition

One of the team here would like to see you stagger the askaperson.net over too lines and maybe try to include the two speech bubbles/silhoutte combination.

We like the concept, but feel that it's more effective with two silhouettes/speech bubbles, rather than a single person - leans more towards a social conversation.

Please keep it up - loving them! :)

The look we are going for is more not sleek or shiney. Thanks!

Hey RossLeRenard,

I have come up with some alternatives to the originals. I took out the reflections and changed around the @ sign/symbol.

Let me know what you think. Size and colors can always be adjusted.

Thanks.
