Details: I'm looking for a logo redesign for one of my websites hostratings.co.uk. I'm currently working on a new design for the website (colours will remain the same) but with a new style. I'm looking for a slightly more funky logo to go with the site. The logo should be funky, cool and fresh. I'm thinking of loosing the British flag thats part of the current logo, so designers don't feel you need to include this as part of the logo (although you can if you think it'll work).

The logo will sit on the at the top of the page, part on a blue gradient background, and then slightly overlapping onto the main content of the page. A good example of the way I want to logo to sit on the page is on yahoo's OMG page - here.

One idea I would like to see on the logo is a something like a ratings bar (a thermometer would be a good example). And it must have the words Host Ratings on it. However if any designers have ideas on what they think will look good, I'm always open to see other ideas!!

Wow, alot of enteries already! I'll try to give feedback on all the designs. This is going to be a long one!

Humdizzy - I quite like your design. The fonts different, and its defintly funky!

J-MAN and ohgar_boy - both of these are nice designs but they are too similar to the current logo. I'm looking for a total revamp.

fico - I like the second design especially the thermometer. It would be nice to see a slightly different font. Maybe something slightly bolder and maybe a slight outline/drop shadow on the font could work.

Nitro - I really like the second design. I may contact you about a couple of revisions. I'll let you know!

tanz.oma - This is a really nice design. I like it a lot! Would it be possible to do the same but in a helveticia style font or a combination on what you have there and a helvetica style font.

Thanks for all the enteries so far! Just a reminder to anyone planning a entery. I'll be totally revamping the website, the only thing that will remain the same is the colours.

nyana - I'm not too keen on the flag part of the logo, tbh its just too big.

JsteRmX - I like the your first design, it defintly stands out. The second I'm not too sure about though.

I googled "Helvetica", it seems to be a paid font group that I don't have. That's why I used "Century Gothic", let me know if you'd like me to try any particular font.
