Hi everybody! I've been impressed with some of the other contest winners, so I've chosen to have my contest here on np.

Let me tell you a little bit about my website:

BeMoreBold is a supplement for men, specifically designed for those who are actively dating. 'Picking-up' women can be nerve wrecking, and because of this many men shy away from the women that they think are attractive. BeMoreBold is a supplement to calm you down without causing drowsiness. It also has natural ingredients to reduce peak stress levels, increase libido, and increase happiness.



Type of Contest : Logo and Banner Design
Prize : $100 paid through paypal
Contest End Date & Time : 10:00 PM EST - March 17, 2011 (winner may be selected sooner)
Size Requirements : for logo-none. For banner-please see current banner for size. We would like the new banner to be a little taller than the current one.
Color Requirements : Please use the current website color scheme, or use different colors if you think those are better. Eighter way the final color scheme of the website will probably reflect the colors of the logo. Since the product is just for men, the logo has to have a masculine or neutral feel to it. I'm not a designer, but I would imagine 'masculine' colors to be black, silver, ect... Feel free to be creative with this. Maybe a look that reflects the natural ingredients?...
General Requirements : Legible. The ".com" is not required within the design, but the name "BeMoreBold" or "Be More Bold" must be in it.
Optional : I think that it would be very nice to have an image or silhouette of a guy/lady/both.
Additional Information : You can get a feel for the product on the website : bemorebold.com. The logo and banner should complement each other, but not be a copy of each other.

Let me add: please submit the banner with hard edges, rather than rounded edges. Our theme can make hard edges rounded.
The files should be a vector files (not sure what its technically called).

Thanks for the entry Nguyen. I like the legibility of the words. I also think that the smirk/smile on the guy's face is great.

I did however get a feeling that the guy is in a fun-in-the-sun beach atmosphere. Relaxed, yes, but it doesn't convey boldness to me. Maybe use the same concept but a little bit of a different picture?
Maybe the feeling of satisfaction is enough? [i.e. see enzyte.com]

I don't want to stifle anyone's creativity, so feel free to go in a completely different direction not mentioned yet.

I will, however post some example pictures that I like and seem suitable.

Here is feedback that I got from my business partner:

Nguyen:

I like the concept of the smirking guy, and I think that it would look cool with a better looking picture of the guy.

The revised smirking guy is not as good as the first, the lightning strike makes it too cluttered and at a smaller size it wouldn’t come through well. Simple and clean with a strongly conveyed message should be the goal.

The Trojan guy has too much going on. I don’t know what that three sided figure is? Is it a stick figure body?

I do like the color scheme, the light blue is very vibrant.



Steve:

I like this font better than Nguyen's, but the blue is on the older/mature side, not as much energy. But neither font is that special. The silhouette guy’s shoulder’s are too high, and he’s too dressed up. I really like the guy with the red tie from the example logo’s. the girl in the pic has the same problem as smirking guy with lightning in the glasses. I don’t know what the design is on her shirt, but it’s too complicated and doesn’t look clean.



The logo should be simplistic and legible. Think of all the big companies, IBM, google, yahoo, etc. Once we get the logo figured out, we can discuss how to populate the banner.

I agree with most of what he wrote, except:
Steve - I like the darker blue that you have, and I like the font. Could you also try a couple of font variations?
The guy's shoulders are too high in the image, or his jacket is too small. IMO We're trying to convey the relaxed attitude after someone would take the supplement.
I DO like his outfit and prefer the more upscale dress. I also like the coloring of the banner.

That's just a bunch of opinions, take them as you will

First picture - I think something like that could work, except without the strike-outs in the words. Do you have any other face pictures that are similar to that one?

second picture - It still seems like he has too much going on. Maybe just the helmet and words would look good?

third picture - I like the design at the end of the word! I do not like the strike-out of the words or the font.


dlight - I like the fonts that you use and the oval in the second picture. The problem with the pictures of the guy is his body language is too timid. We want to get the feeling that he feels manliness or courage. Also, the picture is a little too detailed in my opinion.

ezlock - I like the fonts that you use. I think the second font would like nice, except with less blue. The picture of the eyes looking up conveys shyness, we want it to convey courage. Also it should be spelled "BOLD".

Please see the attached file for examples of pictures that look 'courageous'.

Steve - Thank you for your entry. I asked for a review and I heard that the picture of the guy is too corporate, and does not convey enough boldness.
I understand that it is similar to the picture that I posted, so I apologize if I was misleading.


All - Can we try a logo with a silhouette of a soldier? I think that would definitely convey boldness.

dlight: Thank you for the revisions. I got some feedback, and people found the meaning of the soldier misleading.

Could you try a silhouette of an animal (a predator)? See attachment for examples of what we thing would look good.
We really like the style that you use, and think that the second picture in your very first entry is the best logo thus far.
