Hey all,

If you could please view the site to get an idea of the overall look, that'd be appreciated. I'd like something that integrates with that cleanly. 99niches.com is the website.


Type of Contest : Logo design

Prize : $25

Contest End Date & Time : 4 February 8pm

Size Requirements : max width 670 px; max height 100px

Color Requirements : I am open to this. I like the look of two colors: one for 99 and one for niches. Red and black, blue and black, green, orange, whatever. I want it to pop and tie the page together. I like the look of ThinkTraffic.com for example.

General Requirements : Up to you whether the .com is included in the name, but I'd like 99niches (upper or lower case, I don't care, whatever looks best) to be different colors. Transparent background so it overlays easily.

Additional Information : For part of the graphic/logo, I would like a 'brainstorming' sketch or artwork somewhere included. To be more clear about what I mean, it's like when you circle something as a first idea, and then branch off with a line to another circled idea in several different directions... UNLESS you have a better idea to cover the 99niches idea. If it can be done cleanly, I'd like the slogan 'got 99 problems but a niche ain't one' integrated. I know putting the slogan in cleanly might be complicated, especially under the logo, as I have my pages/categories immediately under that area, so it would probably look like a lot of text in one area... But I'm sure you folks can figure out something. Also, if a brainstorming type look doesn't work, some sort've upward trending lines to indicate market growth of a niche... But I think I'd prefer the brainstorming look. Just depends on what you individual artists can come up with.

The site will be focused on helping people find and exploit hot new niches, with categories from domaining, startups, and applications, to social media and freebies/contests.

I can pay via Paypal, or debit card if you have the ability to take a payment that way. While I'm keeping this open til the 4th, I would really like to get everything up and running ASAP, so as soon as I see one I like, I'll close (as long as that's allowed) and award the winner.

Also, if at all possible, I'd appreciate entries being placed on a screenshot of my current website - it would really help me determine what looks good, what is too crowded, etc. Feel free to watermark however you like, I would just appreciate that extra step to help me in making a decision.

Thanks for your entry, but not what I'm looking for. I'd like the 99NICHES to be more in line with each other, a little cleaner looking with the font, and not really uppercase to lowercase with the Niches part. Either niches or NICHES. But I'd like the 99 to be roughly the same size.

Thanks, Chad, I really like that - especially the black one. I'm wondering if the horizontal lines would be too much when added to my site? Since above and below the logo space there is already horizontal lines for categories and the top of the page.

I'm curious how that would look without the lines, or if you have a different idea for above and below it - also, how it would look with different colors. The grey above looks like it would tie in well with the site, but I like the complete black. Maybe just different color variations...and again, am not too sure about the horizontal lines above and below. I like the 99 bit as I could use that for a favicon - and I'm also looking for something usable as a Facebook Fan Page profile pic.

I'd still like to see something with a sort've brainstorming look to it - the lines and circles, though I'm not sure how that'd be implemented, or the tag line I mentioned in the original post.

Issues logging in and posting. I'm on dial-up, ugh. Trying again.

dlight, really like the first entry, not the second; would love to see different colors and a different font for niches - but like the bold look. Just something strikes me as off with the niches font.

The rest, not so much - I don't want 'Niches' capital and lowercase, I'd rather equal sized. I'd like to see my tagline used, or a sketch of a brainstorming session included, or something that you feel signifies/represents a niche market, niche market growth, a site covering 'finding and exploiting niches.'

I don't want it overly complicated, like abdel or swiss. I'm prefering the clean, bold look of dlight and basement - two nice, glossy, sharp colors, bold fonts.

Sorry if my first post didn't come through. Said something about I've logged in since I last logged in and had to back up, and it didn't save my long reviews of everyone's work. dlight/basement domains is top of the list, swiss and nguy - I don't like the 'Niches' upper-lowercase look, or cursive/swirling typography.

I have tried 2 different style marks, one with a slightly rotated 9. Colours are easily changed. I've played on the question marks as the 99 to show brainstorming.

Thanks for the updated submissions. By the way, I said I liked ThinkTraffic.com - I might ThinkTraffic.NET

But we're getting there anyway. Thanks for everyone's patience and submissions.

Ookie, I like that look, especially the last one in blue you posted, but I'm a little hesitant about the question marks. I do like that you included the tagline, and I prefer the 99?? part straight vertical, rather than tilted as in the others. Still, I'm not sure I'd go with that as my final choice. Maybe if the 'niches' portion were a little larger, more connected or something with the 99 part.

Mr. Nichols - I like it, but just a tad basic.

Abdel, getting better, I like the 99 portion much more now. But I'd like to see more done with the niches somehow.

dlight, you're the front runner. I really like your last submissions. I'm not sure which I prefer, the circle/sticker look, or the other with the offset 99. Both look fantastic. Rather than one uniform color for both portions, I'd like to see 99 in one color, and niches in another. I'm not sure which font I prefer - they book look great. I also really like yours as I can use the 99 bit as a favicon/Facebook page profile pic.

Very nice, basement. I'd like to see some different fonts for the niches, and a few different color variations.
