Hi all, I see there is a lot of talent here so here I go with my needs.

Type of Contest : LOGO Design

Prize : $30.00 usd. PayPal or money order

Contest End Date & Time : November 10th 2006 12pm ET
(may close early if right design is found)

Size Requirements : 200x125. Original work should be resize-able to fit my needs in the future.

Color Requirements : Light colors possibly. I'm not looking for anything in particular with colors so let your creative side come out. Just remember I'll base the rest of my site's design on this logo so colors need to be workable.


General Requirements : I'd like the logo to have a shiny/glossy look to it. I want a square cup in the logo and the cup needs to be a light color. I'm going for a clean look overall the site. I want "SquareCup" in the logo (you can break it up if you want). Also I'd like the phrase "Take A Break!" in there in smaller size or something.
I'd like it to be vector and the winner needs to provide a .psd and .png file atleast.

Also, if you guys could come up with some forum icons I'll pay $10 usd for it.
It should flow with the logo and I want icons for the following:

New Posts icon
No new posts icon
Thread closed
Hot thread with new posts
Hot thread with no new post
Size: 20x20
Finally: Be creative, you can bend the rules a bit if you have a nice idea. NO PM's and ask if you need clarification on anything. Let the games begin.

lloona: thanks for your entry. the cup doesn't seem 3d and seems like it's levetating over the saucer The text looks a little dull.

hs143no: saucer is too thick. I'd like to see the color and gloss applied to it though.
I like the concept of having the cup to the left and 'SquareCup' to the right. I think that works better than anything really. I might upload my sketch and see if anyone could digitize it instead. Thanks.

Its vector so it can be resized easily enough. And how did you want the text? to the side of the cup? or do you want it underneath?
i know the size is off right now, but i can make it smaller if you like it.

hs143no: you're getting there. work with the colors.
Ralphie: I like the cup. Make the handle on the other side (instead of [_]> make it <[_] ) Hope you get what I mean with those Work with the text and some colors. One thing I might change about the cup is make it a bit thinner. The cup just seems too wide.
tickey: a bit too smal for me to validate well but I don't like the grey. also the cup seems flat (or is it just me?) Work with the colors and text.
Josephine: Don't like the circle in the back (ok oval shape). Try to make the cup more 3d and thinner. Also, see if you can work with different text and clolor.

hey this is my take on what you said you wanted, and it is done in flash. So if you whant it animated or anythign changed I can do that as well. I was thinking having smoke or steam come out of the top of the cup. I also thought about having the smoke spell; take a break or square cup.

Sounds like a really great idea but I cant see anything in that page.
<edit> Ok I see it but not really as good as I thought it'd be. The brown doesn't really look 'clean'. Also, I think I'd stay away from the flash. Let me know what you can do with regular images.

thanks for the input I only have flash program right know but I'm working on getting on other programs so hopefully I can help you out later on. Why didn't you want flash just curioius.

I'm not really into flash for two reasons, it doesn't really make much difference and it won't show up without a plugin.

ralphie: I love the color variations. Make the cup longer it still seems too wide (actually seems the same as before). The text needs more work though.
hazardous: I want light shiny colors not dark. Lighten it up and add more 3d feel to it.

It's getting better ralphie but the text is not there yet. I was thinking text like the ones in the contest for '24 forums' that type atleast. Also, could you do a variation of circle and square saucers and make the cup a bit taller.

Ps. please move the trademark sign up and to the left a bit so I can see how it's sitting on the saucer. Lighten it up too, it's getting in the way of the design IMO. Trust me I won't steal your design. (I understand it's easy for me to say that)
