[REQ-HEADER/BANNER] LYRobot.com banner design to inform service on homepage. - $35

Type of Contest : Header/Banner
Prize : $35.00 via PayPal
Contest End Date & Time : 12:00 PM PST (-8 GMT) : 15th May 2010**
Size Requirements : 872 pixels wide MAX (and preferred minimum width). Height can vary depending on needs, but not too large for scrolling worries.
Color Requirements : Needs to use current color scheme (orange, yellow, and dark grayscale). Blue could be added, but otherwise everything must be neutral to that color scheme. (#fecf18 is the light yellow being used and #cf7700 is the dark yellow/orange, for the gradients)

General Requirements :
I need a banner that advertises the service being offered at LYRobot.com (free 2GB file hosting for photos, videos, etc). I would alsoe like the login form to be integrated into the banner (to the right of the banner or so). To see what the login form look like and what links/etc should be included (lost password, reactivation, login, username, password, etc), visit the login page:

Login required - Little Yellow Robot

I'm looking for a similar style as the current design has (the splatter paint look, to a degree) and to otherwise engage the user in knowing that this is a file hosting site. An example of such a call-for-action would be Photobucket, as outlined in red here:

http://www.lyrobot.com/getfile.php?file_id=209&file_key=c21jb

A plus to anyone that can make it more accessible (being able to use it as a billboard for feature highlights/etc). No I'm not asking for coding, but making something easy to revise is always a plus.

Stock photos are okay, but please keep emphasis on the service.

Additional Information :

Current Homepage:
Uploader - Little Yellow Robot

As you see, it's bland. It doesn't help say it's a file uploading site, right away. So, I'm in the process of revising it, but need some help due to time constants. So, I'm asking for a banner to be made for the current redesign plan for the homepage:

http://www.lyrobot.com/getfile.php?file_id=208&file_key=b423s

That yellow gradient block will be changed with the winning entry of this contest. So, that is why the width cannot be over 872px. This banner must show the service the site offers at first glance, the Photobucket example is close to that.

**We'd like 3 entries before considering a winner. This could change if one of the entries works right away. The time for this contest can be extended depending on demand.

Ask any questions you have an be sure to tell me if you're interested in the contest so I know I'm awaiting entries. I've hosted two other contests here that have been quite successful:

[REQ-LOGO] - "Furmunity" fun animal/mascot community logo - $35
[REQ-LOGO] - Mountain Comm. Logo Icon Required - $25

Ah, not bad. Definitely the type of style I'm looking for. Not much to give feedback for since it works well, but:

+ Possibly try to reference the different file types allowed. That being, Pictures, Audio, Video, Documents, etc. The presentation style is nice, but it does hint towards mainly video cause of the play buttons. It's not bad, just maybe help hint towards a general file service.

+ Try to avoid repeating pictures. I understand the reasoning of doing so, but with the type of service this is and the amount of emphasis the banner has, using repeats are easily seen as well as questioning about this service. Feel free to use any other pictures to replace the repeats.

I do love the mascot idea, helps give the name more meaning and less random choice, as well as a neat design. The general flow is what I'm looking for, so you got that down. The login area is alright, but that's not much concern for the contest unless it's directly part of the design itself (I can see an alternative design for it in this design), which is perfectly fine.

Other than style and width requirement, I'm open to creative use since the banner is expected to be part of a full CSS revision (we can afford more than just an image replacement :) ).

Anyone else entering? Have less than 24 hours, but if more people need time, I can extend it to Monday or Wednesday, but that's it. Please voice interest so I know to await your entry.

I like the placement and the style you were going with (play button was part of the image border) in the previous. See if you can do that with other simpler icons (like just the music note, not "audio" label) I also feel the black border works better for the robot. I also liked the pictures you used in your first one.

I guess I'd advise just using the first concept as it would work easier for your design direction (I can replace some pictures as long as it's structured in the photoshop document) so I say stick with the first entry :)

Since it seems people have voiced their interest, as requested in the guidelines, I'll close the contest now and since I am impressed with the vector work of the robot and the overall composition has helped me with the banner creation.

dlight is the winner. Please send me your paypal via PM. Congrats :)
