Type of Contest : Banner design
Prize : $60 via paypal
Contest End Date & Time : 1/24/07 at 12 midnight ( US Eastern Time )
Size Requirements : 766px by 268px
Color Requirements : MUST go well with a dark gray background website
General Requirements :

Please use photoshop for this design.

This banner is for a professional couple that has tons of personal photos to be shown online. Categories includes wedding photos, birthdays, party, family, vacation and etc ...

So the Theme might be "sweet memory" ?

The design has to be clean, artistic and creative.

If your design includes photos of the couples, please use any stock photos and I will replace it with the actual photo later. They have lots of nice wedding pictures I could use.

Also, if your design needs to include the couple's name, please use "Adam & Eve" ( on it own layer ).

You can also include any slogans that meaningful to the "photo" or "memory" theme.

Please use different layers for texts and photos ( if any ). So I can make simple alteration later on.

When designing, please take into consideration that the overall website is of a dark gray tone, and the banner must flow with it.

Lastly, please be creative and unique

Thanks,
Anthony

Here's my attempts, I have attached two versions as they show up as very different on my two monitors.
The first version shows up just great on my Iiyama CRT but the second looks better on the laptop screen so hopefully one of them will look good for you.

Jonny,
Thanks for your effort. Somehow, I find the photos do not seems to flow with your background design. Not sure if the size of the photos, or the white border.
Also the sunset design is give an impression of something coming to an end...rather a sad feeling. IF u can revise, it will be great.

Thanks,
Anthony

I thought by more shades of greay you meant more streaks.. So I added a streak at the bottom :)

9Design,
Yes, that was the idea. But the added streak at the bottom doesn't flow with the design. I agree with you that the design is nice and clean. The streak that u added is too random, can u produce some kind of pattern. It hard to explain, but I hope u understand.

ZeniusIVanisher,
Thanks for your revision. Can u also put up the original design that u first did. I would like your first design for my final consideration as well.

ZeniusIVanisher,
The original first design has all the photos on the left side of the banner exposing the flower on the right. I want to see that :)

Thanks,
Anthony

Here's my entry. (For the record, I looked through all my fonts, and the only one I liked for the main text was the same as yours Zenius. Everything else was bleh.)

By the way, the pink flowers can be interchanged easily with any image of flowers or anything else that you want!

ZeniusIVanisher,
This is the one I like, but move the photos to the left so the flower can be seen. Also, take away the design on the top left. Lastly try using only 2 photos.

MikeMacDesigns,
The color doesn't seems to flow right with the photo.

9Design,
Yes, more of those big curves. Again, I don't like the top left small random curves.

I think the top left small curves is his watermark. I saw it on another design he did. Sorry to butt in, but I just wanted to help clarify!

What would you recommend I do to my design to make it better? I moved the photos to the bottom left and made them smaller like you wanted from his, so I figured you want them from mine. I put my tag-line on the strip as well. What kind of image would you like to see in the background? What color tones?

MikeMacDesigns,
For a start, try using 1 or just 2 photos instead of 3 so it different from the rest.
Next if u have the time, get rid of the pink colored flower. Maybe a different background? As for the color tone, I really cannot tell u. something thats pleasing to the eye. The existing background has too many pink color. The bacckground color should have a few color...not just pink

I'll keep making revisions until I get picked! I never win a contest :/

Here's my second submission.

Made all the changes like I said, as well as picked a background that would work much better on a greyish/black, as well as more than one color.

I hope you like it! If you want anything changed, don't hesitate to ask!
