Since the domain sales is relatively slow this spring compared to last spring, only a few small sales over the last few months, I decided to post one of the previous domain sale that I never reported.

This domain has ~$20 renewal price.

I had a small portfolio (about 20) of .city domains related to "city directories", or something of that nature as well as pertaining to life in cities and visiting them. Later, I decided to sell them separately. Sold "weather", "law" etc.

I still have: Hotel, Eat, Drink, Catering, Mall, Taxi, Ride, Work, Study, Find.

Unfortunately, even at that price $749 - $499, they haven't been sold yet, or perhaps no one can find them.
I had much higher offers, but I didn't sell these domains at the time.

It used to be much better, I hope those days return! :)

A small Canadian sale, eh! Sold and completed this week.

D i g o .ca
$995
(USD)
Afternic
BIN
(no negotiation); inbound
Hold time: 69 months

Nameservers pointed to Atom (Plus listing), so commission was 25%
Sale was reported to NameBio, and is now listed there.

I have around 40 .ca domain names now, a few more in past. The country extension is very strong and respected in Canada (and limited to those with Canadian presence). I almost exclusively only consider single-word names or speakable 4L names. I liked this one, it is apparently Spanish for 'say', plus the dig and sound of name sounded lively to me. I planned to renew the name had it not sold. I had not repriced for years, and fair market price would be more than this. But hey, at least a .ca sale, which for me has been pretty rare (this is 4th one I have sold retail, but over many years). Afternic has sold a number of names for me last few months. I do not have boost on (did for awhile last year). Someone had visited this name multiple times at Atom prior to the sale at Afternic.

I have had a good week!

S l o p e .now
$2195
Inbound, BIN, no negotiation
Spaceship SellerHub
(10% commission)
Hold time: about 5 months
Standard renewal name
Sale has been reported to, and is listed on NameBio.
Was my first .now sale, I have 29 .now domain names.

Sale Process
The buyer was an investor, TopDomains, who has had many premium new extension sales over the year, including some of the higher .now sales. How did the sale happen? TopDomains posted on X announcing a recent sale, but also revealing that it was one mystery buyer who had purchased many of the top .now sales, of names not yet developed. He also pointed out that the seller, in general, preferred to buy at Spaceship and not negotiate, just an attractive BIN. on names of the right quality. TopDomains invited sellers of quality .now names to post as replies. Idea was possibly mystery buyer would see them and purchase, or perhaps TopDomains would buy a few himself. At first I did not bother, but a couple of days ago listed all my .now on Spaceship, and most landers there. I then posted my list. Just over a day ago TopDomains bought this name. So in that sense sale is wholesale, although it will appear retail. I reported the sale with the buyer's permission (I normally don't report wholesale, or at least not without asking permission). I hope that TopDomains will be able to sell this name for a healthy profit.

About Slope
I also wanted to share what I saw in the name. I searched a large number of potential acquisitions of single word .now at standard renewal rate. At first this one did not stand out much to me, but I checked dotDB and the 120 TLDs taken and more than 11,000 total registered including 'slope' significant. Was also surprised with the 1.8 million search volume. So that took me to OpenCorporates to check 'slope' in business names โ€” more than 3300 active businesses. My decision to acquire was sealed when I zeroed in on my own province in Canada, just one province. There are 71 registered businesses with 'slope' as part of their name. But more than that, it was not just skiing that I first thought of, but even in just my own province the businesses covered contracting, consulting, roofing, design, travel, engineering, etc.

Spaceship Smooth:
I have an active LTO at Spaceship on another name, but this was my first BIN sale there. Process could not have been faster or smoother. Main delay was that I was sleeping when sale happened. From when I pushed the domain name to their account at Dynadot, until everything was done and I was paid, was like an hour.

I once asked about the value of this domain, and I will never forget what two highly active, long-time members with high impact of this forum told me. One of them even mocked me when I explained which types of buyers it could be useful for and why I believe it has value. The other completely dismissed it, saying he wouldnโ€™t buy it even if I gave it to him for free !

...and just a few hours later, it sold.

Domain name: E x t e r n a l i t i e s [dot] com

Sale price: $5,000
My earnings after fees: $4,740

JackpotTracker.com
$2,500 broker negotiated at Afternic.
Buy Now price was $7,500, Floor price $4,000, but according to the broker, buyer was firm on their offer and I took the decision to accept.
Had Request Price lander, apparently buyer called directly to make the offer.
