My Thinking: I admit, I did not know if this name would sell. It is one case that the numbers influenced my decision to acquire. Registered 176 TLDs, and more than 4600 total registrations. More than 1500 active OpenCorporate listings on term, and more than 25 CrunchBase listed companies. Those numbers are enough to make me think a name is worthwhile holding in .cc, if other aspects positive. I acquired the name from my single word filter on .cc dropping names at ExpiredDomains.

Fun Fact: Atom recently started showing which names have been viewed multiple times lately from same IP address. This name showed up on my list with 2 viewings by same user in the USA Aug. 1. And then, it sold, to a buyer from the USA.

I think the Sapphire marketplace has helped alternative extension single word names get viewed.

Notes: Had this domain listed on Afternic (and previously DAN). Last month, I added it to Spaceship and pointed the nameservers there. A week ago, I noticed a couple of views/searches in Spaceship stats… and then it sold on Saturday.

Spaceship isn’t perfect yet, but they’re clearly moving in the right direction. Rapid development, openness, constant improvement, responsiveness, and of course, the competitive commission rate are some of the things that stand out for me. Plus, they seem aligned with domainers’ interests (so far, at least). Their support team in particular has been great. Solid A on that front.

Hope things keep trending this way. Very thankful for this sale.

P.S. Still listing on multiple platforms. Each has its strengths and weaknesses.

Earlier this year sold
h/e/y/p/i/v/o/t d/o/t c/o/m via brandbucket and afternic both. how? i had listed domain at brandbucket who from their side in turn had listed at afternic for which i had approved their fast transfer listing and it was sold via afternic. for me sale price was 2080 but buyer paid much higher than that where afternic and brandbucket both got their share in commission. i had hand registered it in 2017 plus few renewals. selling price 2080 before commission. buying price for buyer probably around 2500+ to include afternic commission as well.
PS Brandbucket has stopped listing their names at afternic as per their latest update.
