This thread is a central location to report domain name sales of any dollar amount.

As much information as you can include about the transaction is welcome, but at a bare minimum please include the domain name(s), the sale price, and whether you were the seller.

Good luck with your sales!

  • Tip: Use the Like/Thanks feature instead.

Questions are allowed, but do not post commentary. If you want to discuss or comment on a sale in this thread, quote it and then post it in the following thread instead:

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
An extra fast transaction from Afternic, quite surprised. It has just sold a few hours ago and paid already with manual transfer. Afternic BIN

Yet another sale in the bank:

Untitled.png

Afternic BIN, hold time 11 months. Hand reg.

Fun facts:

- This domain is a part of a larger portfolio of highly similar names, that I tried unsuccessfully to clear on NP, with very similar domains. Nobody took any. Yet the tier has been profitable (I'm just having too many names). So then I've decided to put retail prices on everything and this sale covers much more than I would have made clearing. I still have a bunch and will likely post more sales until they expire.

Takeaways:

a) No, the double m does not hurt (that's a myth)
b) The length also doesn't hurt (myth again)
c) NP appears to not recognize value in the Bargain Bin... (probably a myth again :xf.smile: )

- I currently don't have any domain priced under $1688. Pay full or get lost.

- Note to all of you that aren't selling: Hold tight and carry on. Keep your good prices, the right ones, not too high, not too low. You'll sell stuff. I've only adjusted slightly here and there; again precision sells domains and makes profit, not the lowest price (that would scare many corp customers, un-intuitively).

I'm way behind on reporting. Here's a few recent xyz sales, all in May:

T/i/m/e/S/e/r/i/e/s dot xyz
F/r/o/n/t/R/u/n dot xyz
S/p/a/r/k/L/a/b/s dot xyz
C/o/i/n/S/t/a/c/k dot xyz

Sold each of these for $995 via AfterNic (not fast transfer - there is no FT for xyz domains yet).

Hold time ~6 months. Drop reg, $1 cost basis. I own 3k xyz names.

Two recent .xyz sales:

Domain: Mint // Flow .[xyz]
Sale price : $788 (BIN)
Sale venue: Afternic
Cost: $0.99 handreg
Hold time: approx. 7 months

Domain: Nano // Labs .[xyz]
Sale price : $788 (BIN)
Sale venue: Afternic
Cost: $0.99 handreg
Hold time: approx. 8 months

Bulk buying .xyz domains for 99 cents a piece is clearly profitable for me. Will probably do it all over when the unsold names expire late this year.

But a downside with selling .xyz domains on Afternic is that they are not part of the premium network, so no Fast Transfer. The manual process has been slow, and it's taken weeks to finish the transfer and get the money.

Drop reg.
Hold time: 2 weeks (60 day lock just expired)
Venue: Afternic BIN (not FT)

I received a DomainAgents offer for this which I did not view. I assume the same person bought it eventually.

But a downside with selling .xyz domains on Afternic is that they are not part of the premium network, so no Fast Transfer. The manual process has been slow, and it's taken weeks to finish the transfer and get the money.

I sold an xyz today that transferred in < 1 hour, from DynaDot. However, when I transfer any domain out of NameCheap it takes the full 5-7 days.

DD gives you the option to approve the transfer immediately which makes the difference. Hope this helps.

Bought at GoDaddy expired domains auctions for $40 including the registration fee. $1510 after AN cut.

Landers at Afternic.

Received payment less than 24 hours after this notification email.

Hold time just over 3 months.
I like the name and think that it could someday go for higher. But right now, I'm glad about the sale.
