S W I T .o r g
$1295
Namecheap Marketplace
Inbound, BIN
(no communication with buyer)

Acquired: NameLiquidate in Oct 2020
Hold Time: just under 6 months (name is 7 yr aged though)
I had it renewed to Jan 2023, my total cost about $30

Rationale for acquiring: short, speakable .org. Liked IT (Information Technology or it) ending, and SW could mean southwest or various other things, or S for society nice start in .org. Taken in 95 TLDs. Number in use.

Interestingly, I had it listed Sedo, Afternic, DAN, Namecheap Marketplace, RenameCA (SH white label). Had previously listed Epik lander. Buyer chose where it was registered, even though lander not pointed there.

Funds cleared today, sold a few days ago.

Bob
You Sold this on namecheap Marketplace>?? For such a high price?

I had many low sales in Namecheap marketplace. I am grateful since i at least recovered all of my amateur mistakes by the marketplace but never got such a huge sale.

Congrats! :) I noticed that some of your sales are in euro. .Co is tipically purchased by US and sometimes UK companies, so what's behind your eur setting? I'm just curious, so you don't have to reply if it's a secret :D

Thanks, yes At dan 99% of my sales are in euro although i do sell there in dollar too once in a blue moon but most of sales at dan are in euro. Why you ask?
Its technical reason to boost my sales. A top secret that i cannot share. Lol just kidding.
no particular reason as such, You can say just for the fun. Absolutely random. At first way back in 2016 or 2017 i selected euro unintentionally by default at dan. Then i decided to keep and not change it to confuse buyers with different currency pricing in different marketplaces(silly reason in year 2017) and trigger impulse buying or maybe real reason is i was too lazy to change. 🙂

At the end i got stuck to it just for fun. (To be able to make sales in different currencies.)

PS. good to interact with you bro. after long time.

Thank you, that's a great story :) I thought EUR price may confuse some sellers, but it seems that it's not the case. Wish you the best (and lots of sales of course) :)!

My first VC sale

Bought this during the epik promo for 4.99
I bought only 3 domain even though I could get hundreds of names.

I was new to domaining and had full of biases from all the info I was consuming then.
I thought a VC firm could afford any premium .com and after creating several lists, I ended up deciding not to buy.
Later as I saw brandable .vcs sell quite well, I wished I bought some more.

Pretty happy with this sale. I didn't expect much from this name as most of the recent VC names that sold are brandable strong single words, so I priced it to sell and further reduced the price when NFT overtook the DeFi in the crypto crowd.
I also bought a single word .vc recently for $200, so this has paid for that too :)

Yes. The NC marketplace sale documentation was provided to NameBio, who now have this sale listed.

Most of my sales at NCM have been low $$$ and less.Traditionally I have mainly listed names there in first 60 days, or when I was substantially reducing price, usually prior to plan to possibly drop. However the last month or two I have begun listing names there even though at the major marketplaces. In this case, the buyer made the choice to buy there, even though they had all the major options too.

As a buyer, there is somewhat higher assurance when dealing with a registrar marketplace. It also is guaranteed instant transfer - in this case the domain contacts changed moments before I even knew it had sold (so make sure your BIN prices are right!).

Afternic BIN, drop reg, hold time 6 months.

Sale just came in. Could have been sold for more (high xxx to 1k in current market) but having a good sales ratio so I'm good.

Is it just me, or I find it kind of strange you work at epik which has it's own landers, and sales channel, but your pushing all your sales thru dan?
