As much information as you can include about the transaction is welcome, but at a bare minimum please include the domain name(s), the sale price, and whether you were the seller.

Good luck with your sales!

It was just a catchy name that I found expired on pool.com back in 2004. I've managed to hold onto it for 10 years... I did run a small business with it years ago, but it's been idle for a long time now. Recently, I got the urge to see how it would do on Flippa.

As anyone else, I'd like to had gotten more for it, but realistically, I think it was a fair price.

Okay. Thanks. I bet it sold because of the age then or could there be anything that made sale happen? How many bidders did you had? Was $300 your BIN?

@Nadeem75
Thanks for the question. In a recent post on this thread I provided a few details on how these sales came about. They are combination of contacting end-users and offers received from people who visit my domain selling Website, which you can see as my signature.

As stated then, I redirect most of my names to my Website and people who are looking for a specific domain land there and inquire about the name of their interest. I am selling a few names per month. Since things are going well lately, I have started to use the part time services of an assistant to do some of the marketing of the names (approaching end-users and managing the live-chat on the site).

I wish I had many more GEO names (which is my focus) that I can promote. I will definitely try to substantially increase my portfolio in order to increase sales.

Thanks..
an end user (company) just sent me an email ... we were between $1650 and $500... ended with $800

You could have gotten $1,500 firmly on that. Remember this nugget of information for future reference.

When an end user quotes you around $500, be aware that sometimes they are weighing their options with a WIPO/UDRP which they likely would have won if they filed it. It does leave them open for a reverse squatting finding, however...

Trademark for Robolo exists from that company:
Filing DateMay 18, 2010

Since it was a recent reg, the name is not generic, and there is a TM, you would have lost that WIPO with ease.

WIPO cases cost $1,500 and if the end user files one they also risk the chance of losing the name. So paying $1,500 and guaranteeing 100% acquisition of the name is a win for them.

Next time a trademark holder tries to haggle you below $1,500... just offer them an immediate transfer for $1,500 and you will find that they will quickly agree.

Cheers.

*** Typically don't register trademarked domains unless they are generic terms and you can show fair use for the domain asset.

Trademarks don't work like that. You can have say a tire brand name Robolo and I can have a landscaping business called Robolo. It depends on type of business provided and geo area the business operates.

There can be a trademark for Robolo but as long as the owner of the domain is not putting any content or ads that dilute or affect that specific business using the trademark/brand Robolo it doesn't matter in my opinion. This doesn't give the trademark owner any rights for the domain. Sure you can try wipo/udrp but it will most probably fail and it costs a few thousands which simply makes purchasing the domain from current owner more attractive.

*Please note I am not a lawyer or legal advisor. This is solely my opinion which could be wrong.*

Congrats, that's a nice sale!
Was there a first offer from his side? Or you quoted and he bought it outright?

He emailed me.

I meant to ask if he offered you $2k straight away and you accepted or did he make an offer and you countered it?
